  3. Hi Bloody old pal, check your e-mail about 8.30pm your time tonite.. make sure youv'e got the V1.03 patch though
  4. Don't beat yourselves up over the time to finish a game fellas. It finishes when it finishes. I've got 6 Pbems on the trot at the moment and my procedure is this: Get home from work/uni and check e-mail, movies take roughly 5 min to watch from whatever angle, plots take 10-15 min depending on how fussy I feel at the time so we're talking maybe 1/2 hr to 45 min to play all games. I then forget all about it until 1/2 hr or so before bed when I do it all again. This keeps things moving along nicely and if someone misses a day here and there its no big deal. I figure a 20 turn game on average should take 2 weeks (min) to 3 weeks (max) I'm patient (ie. not in a hurry to die)
  5. Larry, If I had a secret plan up my sleeve to counter your cloning tanks I'd use it... but I have'nt, so there.
  6. I also can't see cheating being a problem, so what if you win? Who wants to be known as 'King of the fools' anyway Meeting engagement sounds like the best set up to me, (Inept, bumbling fool wanders haphazardly into the path of blind drunk, incompetant idiot) As for which side to play, hell, I can lose equally well no matter who I play as. I mean in a current PBEM, Herr Lorak's surprisingly talented 'green' troops have got more than a few of my 'veteran' SS troops leaving large skid marks in their army issue underwear I would pefer to buy my own units as I don't trust the AI sometimes, in a recent heavy fog QB I recieved almost all units as MG's and with only 60m vis I got my worst hammering yet. First time I've had to surrender without the AI doing it for me....
  7. I'm down for the not-so-superbowl also, if any of you guys are looking for some PBEM practice, pls e-mail me and I'll send you a set up or you can set up one yourselves whatever. I'm easy on whatever side or conditions you prefer, I just need the practice! Thanks
  8. Huh? The res was fine at 800x600 until i applied the patch, honest question I thought...... [This message has been edited by Stuka (edited 08-01-2000).]
  9. Can I order a Tiger in peach,a Hetzer in lavander and a nice apricot kubelwagon please?
  10. I've downloaded and applied the MDMP-1 graphics patch, (which looked great but slowed down my poor little Pent 200 too much) but my main concern is that the game is playing in a mega low resolution, the scenario titles in the menu screen run off the screen underneath the national symbols... I had saved the original Bmp folder and have replaced it back in the CM folder but still the low res. I'm using Qres with the desktop shortcut set at 800x600, but no dice. It's no biggy to re-install the game (after saving my PBEM files) but I'm curious as to why this has happened, anyone else had the same happen? A search came up with nothing and there is nothing in the technical section.
  11. I conservatively put 250hrs. CM has taken over my life, bedtime before 1am is now considered an "early night"
  12. Just a quick word on the cheating thing, not that I suspect any of my current PBEM opponents to be cheating of course but just in case a future opponent should try a bit of dirty work, what signs are there to look out for? Except for getting completely thrashed from the start of course.
  13. Where do we get these photos? Is it MadMatt's site?
  14. All this aside, J.Peiper it is bad manners to constantly post in upper case, other members have gently pointed this out to you and either you have not read them or choose to ignore them. Either way as a new recruit to the CM board you are most welcome but please refrain from shouting every post..... There are those here who are not so understanding.
  15. Righty Ho Mr Weta, You nocturnal, bug eating, rotten log living, scary looking but otherwise completely harmless piece of Stuka bait. Your'e on! I've only received set ups so far so I'll brush up on how to create and send them tomorrow and then we're into it! ( as the actress said to the bishop)
  16. If any of you kiwis are keen on a cross tasman PBEM let me know.PBEM's are the way to go as they only take up a few minutes each day as compared to a sit down slug fest with the AI, once I start one of those I can't stop and I'm sick of getting to bed when the birds have started singing I'm currently in 3 PBEM games so I've got room for a couple more. If anyone is particularly anti-aussie don't worry, my dad was a kiwi and i used to live in morrinsville so i guess I've got a boot in both camps. SEE YA!
  17. Try doing a search for a post about Qres, a small programm which allows you to play the game in whatever resolution you choose while leaving the desktop in its standard setting. I think it was a part of windows 95 or something, still it is very handy especially for what you require.
  18. 3 weeks to the day to brisbane..... and mick oz is right it is worth it as long as your computer is good enough to handle the big scenarios because mine can't, not very well anyway.
  19. Hey desert fox, you are the man, no doubt about it, somehow i had the shortcut targeting the D drive not C. A bit of playing around was required as i don't know much about computers but now I've learn't a valuable lesson and i've got the add-ons working a treat! Thanks heaps
  20. Yes thats what I've done... It seems crazy, it can't not work. Still a buddy of mine who modded his game no worries is coming over on the weekend to have a look. Hopefully I'll be able to let you guys know the full extent of my stupidity by next week
  21. No, just a PC, crappy old Pent 200 but still a PC
  22. Has anyone else had problems with the flag symbols? I've downloaded ncrawlers bmp's and have tried both the "extract to CM bmp file" method and also simply clicking and dragging each file over the top of the original bmp. I can now click on each of these files in the bmp folder of the game and see the new symbols but the game is still showing the old ones. My resolution is 800 x600 if that makes any difference. The files have been unzipped correctly I'm sure so this problem has got me stuffed, any thoughts guys?
