  1. Issue FAST move orders for the Shermans and see what happens. Or even have them run broadside in front of the PzIVs and see what happens. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot
  2. You just need to change the color of the Hyperlinks. Change them to Yellow or Red.
  3. Sounds like a personal problem to me. No really, you just gotta get them on a ridge or some hill where they have LOS to a wide viewing range. It's really not hard to do. You just gotta get down with View #1 and scout the land contours to find a suitable place.
  4. Comon' people, posting images isn't that hard. Go to the EXACT location of where the picture DISPLAYS in the browser. Then highlight the URL in the "Location:" bar in your browser. Then click Edit>Copy within the browser. Then when you want to post the image into an UBB, use the UBB code of . Or if all else fails...Click the damned *UBB Code is ON link to the left of a posting text window. It'll show you the correct syntax for doing this. 5. Close, but you had had an extra 'img' in there before the http: Here: Appears your picture isn't uploaded yet or your link is wrong. Ahh, here ya go: [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 02-17-2001).] [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 02-17-2001).]
  6. Well, we never said you were normal, LOL! I was just going off what my assistant was saying because he watches TechTV regularly and he keeps tabs on all this computer crap, etc. However, I can detect a slight flicker in my screen too. I've got my refresh rate set at "optimal" so I'm not sure what is set at and what I could go up to. Besides, what's the benefit of raising the fresh rate? Faster framerates? Less flickering? What? 7. Well, I attempted to send this to Gary Kump, but he informed me that he wasn't connected with the Outpost anymore. I was under the assumption that he would "Forward" them to DraGoon. On the other hand, I've had trouble sending stuff to DraGoon too, so I don't know when I can get this out. I may try Manx's COMBAT MISSIONS. nedlam, I have included batch files to swap between the green grass and the winter grass. But they require some renaming of your current terrain files. Renaming as in adding suffixes to the end of the bmp numbers. '_s' for Summer and '_w' for Winter. Bruno, for the wheat tiles, I used the summer wheat from the "real wheat" mod and browned it up and it looks like freshly plowed soil. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot
  8. The larger camapign was left out of CM1 for a reason. And to somewhat sum up what BTS has said, "A continuing campaign where you could follow a unit through-out a war is unrealistic at best, because in reality any particular unit only fought in one or two operations anyway." Example, a unit that fought in North Africa probably didn't see any action in NW Europe. Hence a unit that fought in Sicily and Italy may have not even seen action in North Africa. NOTE: a unit shall be called a platoon, company, etc. Because look at the casualty rates in CM, I doubt seriously that once surviving units went through more than two replacement outfittings, they had very little, if any of its original troops remaining. So therefore, it would be pointless in to following a unit through a war because the units composition would have changed a dozen times over through the war if they even survioved at all. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot
  9. Yeah, OK, I see what you mean. In that respect, you're right. But I guess why it was never implicated is because of the game's built-in stability when ALT-TAB-ing or ESC-ing, the thought probably never crossed BTS's mind to have a mouse activated "exit" command. At first this sounded like a rehash of :USERNAME:'s (or Lewis, as we all know him) request a while back about something concerning his "laid-back" form of playing with his feet up on the desk and him complaining that his keyboard or mouse wasn't working or soemthing.
  10. God, where did this old thread come from, it's even got my old handle of the infamous, OBG.
  11. I don't know, but if I recall it only worked for the Demos because they were only sampled in 22Hz. The full game's sounds are done in 44Hz.
  12. When you make a post, see the little *UBB Code is ON link to the left side of the text window? Click on it. It'll show you how to do anything on the UBB (Ultimate Bulletin Board) system. BTW, the grass looks good. Looks a lot like what Magua's working on. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 02-17-2001).]
  13. When you dream that the Space Shuttle has exploded in orbit after being hit by some new German space weapon. There's a current shuttle mission just about to wrap up with a planned Sunday landing, BTW.
  14. Marco will be working on the M24 Chaffee, M26 Pershing, and possibly the M10 and M36 after he gets the SHERMAN MEGA-PACK out. I've suggested to him that he ought to finish the US stuff before he goes to the British stuff. [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 02-16-2001).]

  16. Yes, but you realise that much of Russia was flat in the area of most fighting. Every bit of footage I've seen of the Eastern Front has been on very large and vast flat lands. Even Moscow is dead flat.
  17. I don't seem to follow. What would this prove? Or how would this be helpful in trouble-shooting?
  18. I love the Batch Files. Mainly since I can handle creating shortcuts, etc with no problem at all. I frequently run a batch file everytime I fire up CM for I'm one of Marco's test bunnies. I've never even downloaded the Mod Manager and never intend to for I believe it's the batch file swapper for the less inclined. I also have no problem of going into My Computer and manually looking through the individual bmps. BTW, I unzip each mod into it's own folder permanently. So I can go back and look at them anytime I want to. Yes it takes up extra disk space, but so what? When I only have 3 games installed on my computer it doesn't really matter. For those guys who don't use or like batch files, I feel for ya, because you're missing out on a wide variety of options. My suggestion, Clubfoot, is to make batch files for the DFDR. For I intend to do a totally new install of CM and of course have all Desert Rat related material in that new directory.
  19. You know what's ironic here? The human eye can only see refresh rates up to about 75 Hz. Anything faster is a waste. Also your overclocking the CPU may be the problem also. Because way back there was mention that oevrclocking your CPU or video card could cause problems in CM's performance. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot
  20. Nevermind, you got it. [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 02-16-2001).]
  21. There is no clipboard viewer as such, well actually there is under "Start/Program Files/Accessories/System Tools". The clipboard is more or less just a memory buffer. It "saves" into memory whatever is selected. You must then "paste" it into something to see it. If you have a photo or paint program, you can paste the "Printscreen image" into that. Windows Paint works. I use PhotoImpact, in which I can crop the picture, change dimensions, save it in any format, etc. Windows Paint can save in any format as well. It is advised you save in .jpg format, as the .bmp sizes are quite large. [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 02-15-2001).]
  22. The "Winter" ones of ANYTHING, well most anything, is just the original number with a 1 in front of it. Ex. US Helmet is 5000.bmp, Winter US Helmet is 15000.bmp. Gerbirgsjager is 5015-5019 and 5061. There is a difference between US '44 and US '45. Why else would they make two different versions? The '44 uni is got a tan tunic, and brown pants. The '44 uni is totally olive drab. I believe the '45 Army unis are 5041-5044. The '44 Army is 5001-5004. And of course the helmet is 5000. As for the Airborne one, I'm not quite sure (without looking), but the Airborne flag sleeve is like 5062 and 5063. But really, just go through the 5000 thru 5069 files and you can probably tell what is what.
  23. That's me, the big red thing with wheels. And no, I'm not 16! I'm 16+11. ------------------ "Upon my signal, unleash Hell."--General Maximus, Gladiator "Aim small, miss small."--Mel Gibson, The Patriot [This message has been edited by Maximus (edited 02-15-2001).]
