ATI Users anyone getting opengl issues???
Smaragdadler replied to Waycool's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
I have an ATI R4870 with driver version 9.3. In game goes mostly well except for the known fps slow downs on certein maps. But since v1.20 CMSF likes to crash with out-of-memory when I alt-tab on desktop and have other programms running in the background. Also, when I want to switch on vertical sync. in the option menu, CMSF crashes. At start-up I get sometimes strange negative graphics from other programms I have run before, as long the battlefront intro movie loads. -
Nice skid marks grass-mod. Non public I suppose...

CMSF Red Tank Cabability Table v1.0
Smaragdadler replied to Smaragdadler's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I have come to the conclution, that the static T-55 Bunker in the game is actually a T-55-1970. Seems there was never the intention to implement a operational T-55. On the UI-picture in the describtion of the T-55-1970 in the manual is written T-55 (static). It's seems in some patch some ammo was added. I also use the scipio ui-mods and my static T-55 is just marked that - T-55, without (static). Sorry, my mistake. that means we have no mobile lateWW2like upgraded100mm/gyrostab MBT in the game and the Special section is now: No "old rusty Tank" for Uncons. -

Seems it is forgotten. But T-55-1970 is explicitly mentioned in the manual. What in turn is not mentioned in the manual - but can be found in game, is the immobile original T-55 static AT-Bunker. Battlefront? -

The actual claim is more that Leopard 2 has the leading position as the most capable main battle tank system of the world. But I think it is useless to try making a real decision, because we can not get on all the data necessary..

This or whole NATO-module will be completely broken beyond fixability, of course.

CMSF Red Tank Cabability Table v1.0
Smaragdadler replied to Smaragdadler's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I don't understand this fixation about the czech build T-72 beeing a russian (better than 'soviet' to hit the point in this case) design. Best Warsaw Pact tec-quality comes from DDR and Czechoslovakia. I thought you have made some modifiers for steel quality or similar for the czech build T-72? (like late war German steel quality got negative modifier for production quality decrease and sabotage in late war.) Counter case: If someone wants to sell you this new china build Leopard 2, your main consideration for purchasing this special offer or not, don't rest with the fact that it is a german design. For tanks spec the 'material production environment' is more important than where the blueprints come from. -

made a little quick list for scenario designers: -
Yeah, I want out me too: getting a feel lately for modern tec&tactics, I also now find modern setting much more interesting than WW2. WW2 is known and done again and again. Modern is all new and unexplored, more scary, less predictable and unforgiving. It's real grog stuff. Of course I will buy Normandy + all modules + afghanistan + SFII + space lobster.

Thanks for info, I will implement it and name you in the credits. All type designations are CMSF-specific and in the manual is written, these particular SYR T-72M1 are Chechoslovakian export models (license build of course). -

improvement: T-62M -> *best red reserve* T-55MV -> *standard red regular* T-62MV-> *best red regular* -
I tried to make some 'grog-table' for the red tanks in CMSF. This is what I can come up with. Feel free to post your thoughts/found mistakes/critic.
