1. I think L4 means unexploded rounds that go off later, caused by heat from fire or somesuch. ....Let's take cover behind that burning tank!!... ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
2. LOL, aha, you got me wrong there I think. I got you clearly the first time there! The "Oh, it does, it does" was in response to "Hope this explains it well enough." ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
3. Oh, it does, it does! Jolly good then! I like that. Thanks OB&G!
4. Hi BTS! I've got a question regarding Operations and their 'sub-battles': Are the individual battles in operations playable as single scenarios or not (like CC)? I'm asking this because when the final game comes we'll all want to play blind PBEM's for as long as possible. I, for one, will also -while waiting for my opponent's turns- want to play single player a lot. If Operations are separate I wouldn't have to worry about spoiling the 'blind factor' for PBEM scenarios, and just play operations until the first user-created scenarios start to pop up (won't be long I guess). Thanks in advance! ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
5. Not as good as it was a few weeks ago. Any special beer you got in mind? I recommend Hoegaarden. You'll like it! ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
6. Tried reinstalling it. Got as far as the battle seletion screen, and then it crashes Big Time. Anyone who's in the neighbourhood some time in the future can come and pick it up. Beer's on me too! ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
7.
quote:
Originally posted by Big Time Software: babra - it's not supposed to work that way. You shouldn't hear any enemy engine noises, etc., until you've at least located them as sound contacts (or spotted them). Are you certain that was happening? Charles

Charles, Babra is right. I have noticed these enemy engine noises too in VOT. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
8. 1944, ATR! Yeah, I got that one. I don't know what "panned" means, but it was fun, not great, and VERY unstable. At least on my machine it kept crashing like crazy that I stopped playing it. I'd be surprised if it runs at all on present day systems. Hmmm, maybe I should give it a try... ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.

10. Supertanker! I support your theory. I saw surrendered US units being butchered because their nearby HQ refused to give up (they got caught in the crossfire). I really pitied those poor suckers. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
11. I think each player toggles at will. Even if you use the option, though, you might miss things in the heat of battle. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
12. Mr. Pengs's reply brings tears to my eyes. Isn't life wonderfull? Note, no smilies. I've tryin' to cut down, thanks to you... ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me. [This message has been edited by Juju (edited 05-21-2000).]
13. Anyway, IMHO one does not save a PBEM game. Just doesn't feel right. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
14. All American! It's my turn to disagree with you: If I use the 1 view (the so called real life view) I probably can't see if a track is broken at ranges of 300 meters or more (not zooming in, that is. Real life, remember). I may be too busy pressing my binoculars to my eyes all the time, if I even have them. Bullets may be raining down on me. The tank may be in a hull down position, efectively obscuring my view of his tracks. any thing can happen. Over to you. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
15. Oowee, sometime VERY soon we'll cross that '5.000 Topics, 50.000 post' border. I think we should all buy the one that enters the 50.000th post a free copy of CM! Or at least we let him win a couple of times. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
16. I like counter attacks with fresh platoons the enemy knows nothing about. Nothing better than a nice surprise. God knows, happpened to me more than enough.
17. No PAEZ, you're not wrong. I played a PBEM game once and my opponent's Tiger got bogged down. The option was off, and until the end of the game I kept wondering why my opponent didn't move that tank of his into a better position. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
18.
quote:
Originally posted by Big Time Software: CM's FT guys won't explode. Charles

Ah! Back to the front line, you guys! MOVE, MOVE!! ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
19. I watched Surrendered US units being shot by German Units. I watched surrendered US units being slaughtered needlessly because their nearby platoon HQ refused to surrender and carried on fighting (they got caught in the crossfire). I watched the US AI player lure me into two buildings and then had my assaulting troops fried Big Time by their flamethrowers (that one was awesome). I watched my FO's expanding their LOS by destroying buildings along the way.I saw (and heard) immersion like I've never seen before in a computer game. Need I say more? ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
20. Thanks y'all! Mission accomplished! Hmmm, I'm missing a coupla names there... so, once again, as SS_P suggested: VOTE. REVIEW. ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
21. One thing I DO know is that troops generally did not like to be too close to flamethrower teams. With good reason. I bet you saw the scene in SPR wher that FT carrying soldier get's hit in the fueltank and takes some of his buddies standing in near proximity with him in the ensuing blast. I've played VOT as US once only, but this real life knowledge alone was enough for me to keep my infantry at a respectable distance from FT teams. and I STILL don't even know if they CAN explode in the game! Never seen it happen, and I did get to kill a few... ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
22. Hi SS_P! What's 'version tracker' and where do I find it? ------------------ Combat Axiom #49. It could be worse. It could be me.
23. Can't remember being able to do that in the beta, really. Unable to verify because of format.com (not a webpage). No more beta demo for me...
24.
quote:
Originally posted by Babra: I hereby officially dub this list the "Dicta JuJu." (smiley inserted only to piss off Peng). My brain has 5 a.m. fog.
