  1. Special Request:

Please make it available for download after 6PM EST? It would probably be too unbearable for me if it suddenly became available during my office hours.......... and I have to wait in agony to get home before being able to download!!!!! : )

This is why it pays to have a remote desktop client installed on your home machine. I can connect to it

from work and start the download whenever it's available, then by the time I'm

home I can fire it up and play! No waiting!!

  2. SPOILERS

Well I gave it a go and I managed a total victory! To be honest, I thought it was going to be a LOT harder. I only had one tank get imobilized and one Bradly too. 7 Kia, and 11 wounded. I pummeled the crap out of the enemy, and now that I look back, I think it was too easy. So much arty and air power. Man, and I didn't even use it all. When the T72s arrived they got shredded by the M1's, and TOWs. Not one got a hit on my guys. I wasn't sure what to do with all my units afterawhile. I only got the two vehicles immobilized because I was over the 2 hour limit and decided to get careless with them and zipped them around the city. I did have fun with it, and it last over the 2 hour limit.

PS - There's a traffic light in the river. :D

  3. **spoilers**

Well...I gave it a brief try but it's not my thing. I like small scenerios, but I just don't understand this one. You start out with a humvee and a few squads of elite guys...but no support at all. Are these guys supposed to walk all over thh country side???

There's no cover at all...advance out in the open in the light of day into a known entrenched enemy...uh...ok. Why? So I approach and crawl to the edge of the hill and instantly the entire trench opens up as soon as my crawling elite guys crest the hill. Even thogh I am flanking the hell out of them... 5 guys get waxed, and that's enough for me so I do a cease fire.

Next mission, another plain desert with a lone building in the distance. Ugh. Now my guys are mostly "-2" ratings. The humvee is gone and a Stryker shows up. Now I've got a spotter and arty...And again, advancing over open terrain with a couple guys...no thanks.

    Anyway... my .02

  4. I really enjoyed this one and was sure I had a victor buy was given a minor defeat. WTF? I lost no men and no vehicles, and I owned the "Sidewinder" victory zone. No reds were in it.

    Why the loss?

I put the javelin on the roof of a building. Used it to wax one of the APCs, and also the building in the far corner of the map.

  5. This has never been resolved then eh? I too just got a new PC (quadcore/Vista 3gb) and it has a 2400GHD. Totally unplayable with the ATI option on or off. If it's on, I can't select units properly. If it's off, it's painfully slow. Also, when it's on the curso moves in "slow mo" and kind of floats around. Hugely annoying.

My 5 year old P3 with a 8600GT card on it runs it fine, albeit with lower graphics settings.

Is the only answer to get an Nvidia card?

  6. Thing I noticed... is a weird "dance" the guys do if I deploy them and then issue a "face" command while they are in a building, or on a roof. Same if I give an arc to target.

Example, on a roof, I tell them to face "that way". Most do, but 1-3 guys ends up running back and forth, back and forth...over and over. Eventually they stop, but it's really weird.

  7. Great timing on this thread, I'm looking to get a new Dell and have been debating the video card.

Anyone have input on the 8800GTS 512 vs the 256 8600GT?

I wouldn't mind saving some $$ if SF runs just as well on the 256 as it does on the 512. Plus, there's a 5 day shipping delay when ordering the 512. And who wants that?

    Thanks dudes.

  8. I tried it, but for my personal taste there are way to many units to keep track of. I'm newly converted to RT play, (after having been a big time hater of those games) so I find that any scenerio with more than 15 units or so is too much for me to deal with. I played for about an hour I think, quite casually. One thing I found was that any time I dismounted the BMPs that at least 90% of the guys were gunned down within seconds. I've never seen so much devastation. Of course it doesn't help that they run out into the wide open to "form up". But nonetheless, it was an eye opener. Also, the Syrian arty just sucks. Felt like I was playing CMBB as Russians.

Anyway, I think it'll be a very good scenario in the. Just not for me.

    Cheers!

  9. Sorry to say, but I coming to the conclusion that this game should have been released in 2008.
    Dear god no.

I spent all freakin' weekend playing this game. I am officially addicted.

And yah, you can count on BTS getting a patch out quickly. Anyone who's been around here long enough knows they are attentive.
