It could if you want to check it out today. Might take hours to D/L.
It'll be finished downloading when it's finished downloading!
-
I highly doubt the demo which consists of just 3 scenerios is anywhere near the size of the full game.
But really? Does it matter how long? 10 minutes? 1 hour? Who cares?

Just making sure everybody knows why there are no randomly generated maps and never will be.
So you're telling me there's a chance! YEAH!!!*
*Dumb and Dumber reference. Sorry.

The tank will move if it decides it's threatened. You cannot force it to stay parked. At least not in CMSF.
-
Look at the pretty flowers!!! I mean just look at them! Wait, are those Lupins?
-
How could that even be possible? You can't mod the vehicles or weapons so...um. No.
-
apart from the infantry, most of the changes are not graphical.
Wow. I guess I'm looking at a different game.
-
There's just no pleasing some people.

Is it possible to get some screenshots or short videos from Beta testers and such. Its just the final days are going so slow.
There are several video AAR's out already. Check the "sticky" posts.

So true Sergei. It's all in the details!

Exactly the same thoughts! At least we get to play the demo a bit before full release... although Steve suggested both will come really back to back. Or is it just me misunderstanding things (again)?
My guess is they will be very close to the same date. This isn't like back in '99 when the beta demo was out for months before the game came out.
I seem to recall that when CMSF came out, that the demo was weeks later, and demos have not come out before game releases in many years.
Either way, I'm sure to play the demo a dozen times or more.
When the time gets closer, I will leave my desktop on at home, and then if I see it's released while I'm at work I'll remote into it and do the download and install
while Im at work so when I get home I can start playing right away.
-
When the demo comes out the game should be right behind it. That will give you a warning shot across the bow, so to speak.
Steve
Hmm...that's interesting. The demo coming out before the game. That's been awhile since that has happened. At least I think so.

What it says is -
The case has space for the discs, that's all."Modules 1 2 and 3 are future releases and not included in this set".It's a bit hard to include discs of unreleased modules isn't it?
-
Can't recall how I heard about it, but was a former Squad Leader player in the late early 80s, the Steel Panthers
was as close to SL as I had seen so I snapped it up. Got on the board at some point and waited and waited for
that beta demo. Jeezus, I must have played that thing for hoursssssssssssssss.
Quit playing CMBO many years ago, took up CMSF for several years, got all the modules but am burned out on modern stuff.
Even the Afghanistan module goes unplayed. I think the new one will keep me very busy though! I doubt I'll go back to CMSF.

Can someone (Phil?) update the first post with a "where and when"? I can't find what time this is happening.
-
Is there room for drop ins? I can't be sure I can make it till possibly Friday, or even Saturday.
-
Yes Yes. Fantastic during the day.
I stayed very late at The Trappist (great place!) and made a quick march/wobble from there to the hotel a couple years back.
-
My hope is to snag a space at Endgame in Oakland - dunno if you've been there, but it's very wargamer-friendly - we'd like as not get some drop-ins. If I can't manage that I'll probably get a conference space nearby. There's good eating around there and BART is just a couple blocks away.
Never been there, but bloody hell, it's next door to Pacific Coast Brewing, and a block from The Trappist both of which I'm fans of.
Odds of me going have just improved dramatically!
I have stayed at the Marriott right there before. Very nice. Can sometimes get smoking deals (like I did) from Hotwire.
Yah, BART is a stones throw. I'll take Caltrain up, then to BART. Cool.

Hi all!
Any preview in the Northeast USA area? If not, what does it take to set one up?!
I

Very possible I'll go. What venues do you have in mind?
-
Yah, COME ON STEVE. Sheesh. Im as patient as they come, but just a morsel?
A wafer thin mint per chance?

I cannot find the answer to this anywhere in manual.
When you hit the key combo to toggle on/off the floating icons, one of the options says something like "Spotting units only". WTF does that mean? I have tried figuring it out on many occasions and I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is showing me.
GAH!!!

The Marder 20mm is off the hook.

I really have to stop buying these things. LOL.
Just logged on remotely to my home PC, bought it and now it's downloading. I'll install it remotely too and when I get home I can play instantly. Ah technology!!!!
