1. Got it. Thanks (Preordered 21 Dec 99) P.S. Package shipped 20 June. I must say I think the packaging and shipping company really caused a lot of s*** giving BTS overly optomistic processing times ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins. 2. CM Has hit the D.C. area. Ordered 21 Dec., finally got it today. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
3. Finally got it today. I was really worried that the Nov - Jan orders were misplaced in the system, but here it is. (Ordered in December) ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
4. Same here. Ordered in December. Still no joy. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.

I don't blame you. Just frustrated. USPS is usually very reliable for me, but when they've screwed up, they've screwed up good. Back to the pain pills. The Doc gave me soom good stuff today for my back. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
6.
quote:
Originally posted by ARCHANGEL: Yes! One of the guys IN DC has it, as does one in Centerville.

Wonder when they ordered. I smell a misplaced bag of mail. Seems like a lot of the old familiar names aren't getting there CM. Hope it's just the pain and the medication but I feel real bad right now. Let's hope tomorrow proves me to be wrong. Guess I should stop whining and get off the board. Trying to stop posting gloom and doom... ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
7.
quote:
Originally posted by 0311: Ordered in Dec ship to Dallas and some cat in Midland TX (Mayberry) orders last month and has had it for a few days. hmmmmm

I've noticed a lot of that myself. I'm beginning to wonder if a certain mailbag filled with early orders isn't sitting in a nice cozy location, right where it's not supposed to be, or maybe it's just the pain medication the doctor gave me this morning. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
8. Has anyone in the D.C. area gotten it? I fear the worst, but I'm a pesimist. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
9.
quote:
Originally posted by aikidorat: Figured someone had! what was the damage message? like you said, gotta love the detail in this game. Simply amazing.

Honestly can't remember. Just remember thinking it was a shot trap kill. Had to be, at least I thought it had to be at the time, my 76mm Sherman was toast. The previous posts probably have the message right. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
10. I don't whine often but this stinks. You can't get much hotter a ZIP Code than Andrews AFB. I get third class mail from the middle of nowhere in 2 days. The thing that depresses me most is I have to wait until Monday to declare my CM no-show. Unless the post office finds my missplaced package I wont have CM until around next Friday. P.S. Shoud've put this here to begin with instead of starting a thread. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.

12. Did it in the VOT demo. Gotta love the detail of this game! P.S. Still waiting for my full version copy. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
13. No CM at Andrews ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
14. No game here either. Houston has it but D.C. area Maryland empty (at least for me). Preordered in December. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
15. The best and worst people I ever met were in the Army. I could tell you stories. Some I'd trust with my life, others you couldn't turn your back on for a second (Not an exageration). I wouldn't sign a military contract unless I was sure I wanted a military carreer, and I definately wouldn't join the Army unless it was as a commisioned officer. I've been in the military 17 years and my biggest regret is not getting my college education when I was young. If it's the only way you can pay for college, or you have a wild hair and need some discipline, go ahaid and join the reserves; otherwise, get that college degree. The military will still be there when you graduate. Just My 2 Cents Eric ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
16. 1) Gamey 2) Gamey 3) Not Gamey, especially on a map like VOT's that just begs you to use cover available near the edges. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
17. Hi, 21 Dec 99. Found the demo durring Christmas vacation. Emidiately preordered. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
18. A CM ballcap or coffee mug would be nice. This shouldn't be too hard to do. We have squadon t-shirts, hats, and coffee mugs made up at work for fundraisers. And you can order them in lots of as few as 500 or less. Steve & Charles should really look into this. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
19. You'd be suprised to see how long propellant burns when not under pressure. When I was in the Artillary we used to have to burn the excess powder after training. Make for one big and very hot fire. And yes it burns for quite a while. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
20. Uhhh, what's a CD burner? Just kiding. No I don't own one, and have no legitimate need for one. The cost of getting replacemant CD's from most companies is a fraction of the original (as long as you keep your receipts). BTW don't be upset becouse not everybody is signing up on this post. A lot of people think accepting that software agreement should be word enough. On the other hand the show of support can't hurt, and if it causes people to rethink the CD burning issue then I'm all for it. Cheers ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
21. My 2 cents: 1) No the M16 ammo doesn't have a ball in it. Why they call it ball ammunition I don't know, but that's the designation. 2) The M16 bullet in and of itself does not have a tendency to wobble any more or less than any other ammo. All ammo wants to wobble. That's why groves i.e. rifleing are cut into the inside of the barrells of guns. The twist (turn rate) on the F16 barrell is not suficient to give the bullet a good flight path. The bullet first wobles slightly and by 460 yards goes pretty much out of control. This wobble gives it a greater tendancy to do weird things when it hits a target also. 3) Kinetic energy is much more important to knock down power than bullet diameter. This has been covered very well but please bare with me as I add my thoughts to this. I think the 30 cal (7.62mm) round of the MP44 will pass as much or more kenetic energy to the target than a 9mm PB at any range. Even though the 7.62 may pass through the target and keep on going the overall destructive energy transmitted will be greater than the 9mm. The size of the hole isn't that important. That's only a small part of the tissue rupture equation. It's the violent energy transfer (and subsequent tissue rupture)that causes the combination of shock and blood loss to knock down the target. If it wasn't for the violent energy transfer bullets would be very ineficient killing tools becouse they tend to carterize(SP) the wound. Now if bullets were efficient blood letters like a nice sharp arrow is (requires a fraction of the kenetic energy for a quick kill), kenetic energy wouldn't be an issue, but as thing are I'd say the MP44 packs a much more leathal punch. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
22. Yes there is some public ribbing among close friends here, but I'm sure your opinion on a thread is always welcome. As far as the quiting thing goes: It should be perfectly acceptable for someone to surrender a game as soon as it's no longer fun. It is also customary for the losser to award the winner a higher than earned victory level in return, at least in ladder play. I also agree that just dissapearing when a game goes sour is rude and unsportsman like behavior. In ladder play I think the highest level of victory should be awarded to the person left holding the check. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.

25. I was a fan of Steel Panthers for many years. I think MATRIX Games did a wonderful job with SPWAW. I'm afraid I'm a bit burned out on the series. Did just about everything that could be done with the game. CM it's not, but it is the apex of squad level, I go - you go hex type wargaming. ------------------ He who gets there the fastest with the mostest wins.
