SBG. I don't feel that in CM's time frame it would matter. I've been ambushing my mailbox for a week now and I'm still pretty sharp. So 30-min to hour isn't that long.... Just to add something on abandonment. I believe this only happens/mostly happens when the tank/bunker/ect.. is defenceless. Like if the gun in a bunker is damaged the crew will leave. Same with cannons and tanks I believe. If the crew loses their main weapon they will leave. I've had my cannon in VoT shelled with mortars.I didn't lose one man but the gun took some damage so it became adandoned. Rambling now... sorry. LOL, true Joe. I think the whole problem stems from the fact that we don't know if the CD's are being carried by european or african swallows. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring -

ok GreasyPig. I'll admit I bowed out. I could see how things could start to become un-civil real fast. This was never my intention. As most people will confirm, I'm just an idiot (a good one) who usualy posts mindless babble anyways. Thanks for your post. It was whitty and lightend the mood. Two little things that seem weird. One possible bug?

ok, this is just a guess / question... The rubbled buildings are represented as flat. But maybe they still provides some LOS block that we don't percieve? just a thought. CM is NOT realistic in my opinion
Lorak replied to Ricky's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
ok Ricky. It would help if you gave a little more information. For one, I haven't seen a problem with my tanks and hitting infantry. It seems about right to me. Now the walking... I think your infantry "walking" away means they are retreating but aren't broken. When they all out run away they are broken units. It may also be the units you see. Some units like heavy machine guns,ect.. can't run. Lorak ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/combatmissionclub Lorak's FTX for CM <--Proud member of the Combat Mission Webring -

ok Joe. I agree it was bad wording. I guess "raising" implies parental guidence. I should have used diffrent "experiences". well... Back to the wait. Lets hope it is a short one for all of us. I can see your point Joe. I didn't mean to come off as being insulting. I guess it is just a diffrence in raising. Growing up and going thru things I've went through, I just rank waiting for the mailman at the bottom of the worry list. Good post Krump. I'm not saying that people complaining is wrong. I'm just saying the LEVEL of complaing is so overblown it is funny. My feelings: Preordered months ago. Still no CM in North Carolina. Damn this sux.. Oh well, another day or two. Not a post that makes it sound as though You are the Job of the wargaming world. That you are dieseased and your family is sick and starving and only CM can save them. Lorak replied to Ricky's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
1. they aren't walking thru a hail of bullets. It is a 12 man squad running and dodging. If you can't imagine that.. sorry. It isn't real life with actors. 2. If 6 people broke into my house I think I could hold out for 60 seconds. You have to realize that just because the houses in CM don't have walls and kitchens shown. LOS in a building is kind of low. In some houses if your guys are on one end they can't even get LOS to guys on the other end. 3. see answer to question 1. You can't model every single thing in a Game. There are some abstractions. I'm Still laughing my ass off at you guys. First No game here either... But really. If you people lead such wonderful lives that the only thing you have to complain about is a game being a day or two late.. You should fall to your knees and thank somebody. Thank God CM wasn't ordered from the TV where, "allow 4-6 weeks for delivery",is the normal. I'm not flaming. Just asking people to look at how they are acting, and realize it is for a "game". It looks like we have some growing up to do. Because it's all I can do to keep from laughing reading these post. Thanks Fionn. I find that using boards without a spellchecker can be a pain sometimes. So.. use smaller words, be as clear as possible, and then say screw it. Lorak <--dyslexic P.S. As an off-shoot.
