Question about tank battle distance in CM
ncounio replied to Xavier's topic in Combat Mission Archive #2 (2000)
Ok Xavier, let us say that when I think I have the bigger gun, I try to maximize range (Circa 1000-700 m), otherwise range will be 350-500 m as observed on most CM maps. Where is the fun of a 1500 m shooting range however ? ------------------ Nicolas http://perso.infonie.fr/nicolas.counio/combat_mission1.html "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk -

Well I do not know Arnhem, but I can tell you that the Louvre and Tuileries map (A walk in Paris) is quite accurate (as I used to live in Paris)and IMHO the best you can get with the CM engine ------------------ Nicolas http://perso.infonie.fr/nicolas.counio/combat_mission1.html "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk -

Well you can simulate anti-tank ditches by using some kid of impassable terrain for AFVs rough for exemple (low LOS impact). ------------------ Nicolas http://perso.infonie.fr/nicolas.counio/combat_mission1.html "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk

Well without reviewing the whole story of Free french forces, Let us say that the second Armoured division, in french "2ième DB", was in 1944 equiped with US tools of trade. But there were several units who used a vast variety of equipment. Hell free french even used B1-Bis tanks during the fight to retake Royans in 1944 ------------------ Nicolas "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk

Speaking of french war industry under german occupation, there was also very little enthusiasm from the workers in these factories to produce for Germany when 1/ Your own country is under foreign rule 2/ A lot of young men were held in Germany in so called "Mandatory Work Service" program ------------------ Nicolas "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk -
No way to figure it out unless to trust your opponent. Well you can do rough calculation at the end of the battle but that is a painfull process ------------------ Nicolas "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk [This message has been edited by ncounio (edited 07-31-2000).]

No, online only as stated in the Battlefront manisfesto. But seems that customs are a no problem here (use of an ordinary padded enveloppe + smart value declaration) seems to be enough in EEC Allow 8 to 10 days to cross the pond ------------------ Nicolas "Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu'une brute qui marche" Un Taxi Pour Tobrouk
