  1. How to for macs posted on Tips and Techniques forum.
  2. Apparently the graphics are "bundled" (for lack of a better word) into Graphics 1, 2, etc. files. These can be opened with an application called Res Edit. Once there you will see a series of graphics in thumbnail rows. Select the one you wish to modify, copy it (Command C) and paste it into Adobe Photoshop (or some other graphics program, I guess). In Photoshop I know can you modify the graphic. Now, go back to Res Edit, Double-click the image you want to modify, paste your new image into the opened image, close out windows, save and quit. Open up the game to test. Oh yeah, ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER. MAKE A COPY OF THE GRAPHICS FILE BEFORE YOU SCREW WITH IT OR YOU MAY END UP WITH A MODIFIED FILE THAT DOESN'T WORK AND NO ORIGINAL TO FALL BACK ON. Copy the Graphics file to your desktop for safekeeping, modify the file in your game folder. If it doesn't work, simply trash the non-working modified file and replace with the original. That's it.
  3. Ok. Do you know how to post a picture? I want to show off my work.
  4. OK, OK, how do you paste a picture into here? (I successfully modified the file.)
  5. Hey, that might work. Do you double-click the file in Res Edit to pop it open? Paste and then save? (Incidentally, I started a new thread on this...sorry, got impatient).
  6. I'll share what meager knowledge I have - talked with someone the other day on a chat and found out some things (some I already knew). In Photoshop I know can you modify the graphic. Once finished, copy the thing and then paste it where it came from to begin with. This is where I can't get it right. When I paste it into the file it automatically renames the file (which doesn't allow the game to find it - so it doesn't work). Basically I got it this far but I need help to go further. 8. Dude I am totally with you!! I have, in the past on this forum, learned all kinds of interesting facts and thoroughly enjoyed the posts - lots of them completely hilarious! Hovever, this forum has taken the wrong roads in the past few days and I completely don't understand the thing with other games...who gives a hoot about any other game on the market right now? (Much less what other game fans think of us). They don't know us or our game - a pissing match between the two forums only shows that some from both sides are extremely loyal and kinda immature. How about funneling all that enthusiam into something productive and ignore anyone trying to start something? To hell with all the petty bickering - I can't stand it!
  9. Where's the checks and balances that prevent a military dictatorship?
  10. Just curious when the Mods pack/update thing will be ready to rumble?...
  11. Just curious, do you guys use Photoshop to create/modify these textures? Seems like the layer options would be very beneficial for this...
  12. Mikester, Your link goes nowhere my friend. Might want to check it out.
  13. Gotta run - works over! Can't wait for the threads tomorrow! Later...
  14. I feel the same as Madmatt and others of similar ilk - don't mess with anyone else. Who cares what they think - screw 'em.
  15. Yeah, but seems like the entire community at this little forum is getting a bit testy. I've been semi-flamed a few times today already for a few postings...OK, some of them were stupid. Still, I think the natives are restless.
  16. I agree - I've been posting here for a long time and now it's time to celebrate! Seems like many of the postings now are fairly tame compaired to the postings when the demo was first released.
  17. Battleground is an awesome movie - I especially like the scene where the GI's are semi-interrogating some German officials and one of them is blowing the most perfect smoke rings into their faces! Platoon has many good moments, A Bridge Too Far is pretty cool as well. Patton is good, too. Combat with SGT Sanders was completely awesome.
  18. Too cool! The amount on my card seems to be the right amount! Ah, the light at the end of the tunnel!
  19. Just a quick post to once again vent my disgust at our current administrations lack of foresight and common sense. Bunch a doggone socialists...
  20. Sorry, I guess my post reflects my honest ignorance of what its all about. I've been to the site and all but there are questions... but hey, if you don't want it then that's cool.
  21. Just thought I'd liven up the forum a bit. I'd also like to say that I've enjoyed posting on this board immensely. Hey, got an idea: why don't we do a thread talking about who will participate in the Mega mission thing and why? Which side will you be on, etc?
  22. Not a problem! Yeah, Plaza school is still around - there is a Middle School now too. And the Evansville Aces are now the Evansville Otters! I bet there's still a lot that hasn't changed, though. I went to Holy Rosary Gradeschool and Memorial High School myself. Also attended both colleges, USI (used to be ISUE) and UE. Good to talk to someone from the sweaty valley of Etown! Alright!!
  23. First of all, not really sure what Seimerst's post was all about - this thread is for fun so lighten up! No sh*t, there I was, hip-deep in grenade pins when I learned that I had s---burning detail. For those of you not educated on this treat it is the sanitary disposal of military excrement and urine by mixing it (in our case) with a combo of diesel fuel and mo-gas. We rated the cans by splash factor (1-10) according to how full they were. Anyway, while pulling a can of urine (splash factor 9 or 10) out of the back of the latrine when I muffed it and the contents splashed up in my face. Needless to say, war is hell.
  24. I second what Bullethead & Schrullenhaft have said. I spent 7 years on Active Reserve, was pulled out of college and went to the Gulf thing. Overall the Reserve experience was a good one. Remember, no matter what anyone tells you, you sign up for 8 years minimum (it can be 6 active, 2 inactive or several other combinations - I extended one year - will always be 8 years, though). Got out in 1993 because I was tired of the crap you have to put up with and I strongly disagree with the current administration - who, by the way, has increased the likelihood of you being deployed as a policeman to some 3rd world ****hole every other month because he has cut our current military to shreds - lower than before WW2. Consider it all before you sign the dotted lines...
