  1. Ditto. Couldn't find it at the site.
  2. Other thread getting a bit long - thought I'd start one map editor specific. I'd like to see more options for terrain like the following: -already destroyed bridges -more destroyed building types (not just rubble) -small ditches -roadsigns -craters -burnt vehicles -railroad bridges -railroad cars -new building types
  3. Wish I would have posted this a long time ago but wouldn't it be fun to have horse-drawn arty and troops on bicycles - I think the Germans relied on them a bit during the time period supported by CM. Comments?
  4. Wow, thanks for the input. I didn't want anyone to think I was complaining or anything - just wanted to know if anyone had any info. It's kinda weird - when you see new mods and they look so cool you just automatically want to use them. Major thanks!
  5. I know how to open the modified bmp files and paste over existing files...the problem with mac files is getting new files like the winter textures. My guess is that new files have to be created with the right referencing info and that's where I am admittedly mod-stupid.
  6. There were probably several pictures taken...I work for an ad agency and one of our clients was there and snapped this photo - I scanned the photo so I could do some touch ups for the guy as a favor and that's how I have it.
  7. Got a scan of an actual picture of Patton throwing a whiz off some bridge in Europe - if you want to see it maybe one of you with a CM fan site can post here and I'll email it to you.
  8. Seems to be a lot of new mods out there but no new mac mods, am I crazy or what? If I'm missing something please let me know about it.
  9. Don't even know if it can be done, can mods be created for CM instead of modified? I am speaking of mods to be added to the texture lists to expand our choices when creating a scenario. Items would include things like railroad bridges, shell craters, various ruined buildings (instead of just rubble), etc, etc! I dunno, gliders, aircraft wreckage, actual barns, blown bridges, fuel depots, tents, etc....There may have already been a thread about this-I confess, I haven't checked. Anyone care to comment?
  10. My wife only has 6 weeks or so until our first child is born. I wanted a new mac G4 computer but felt a bit hesitant with the kid on the way and all - and she says go for it now while she's still working full time! I do love her so...
  11. Roger that. I pretty much thought that was the case but I just wanted some confirmation from someone in the know. I am itching to play someone real - I believe I will try and jump on someone's bandwagon soon for a quick battle or two. Thanks fellas!
  12. If artillery falls in a wood and no one is around to see it will casualties still happen? Say there is a stand of woods out there and even though I haven't SEEN any enemy troops there I want to drop a lot of artillery on it. If there are troops there will they take casualties even though I can't see it happen? With full fog of war on I don't see its effects but I know that theoretically troops occupying that woods should be taking some hits. There have been several times when I started pummeling some potential threat just to be safe...
  13. Haven't as yet started one - thinking about Stavelot (Bulge). Anyone else? OH YEAH, anyone have any helpful hints on accurate maps of Belgium, France, etc? Couldn't find smack on the internet except some crappy tourist maps...
  14. I always been a war buff. As a kid I spent hours upon hours making intricate military models only to blow them to hell in my dad's garden! War, I think, is a boy-thing. Guys generally like competition and also like to feel like they are part of a team. Human beings in general are very teritorial and clickish - are you like me or not? (Remember the problems with other game bashing last week?) Personally, war gaming and war itself are two entirely different things...and although there are as many opinions as to why we do it we all still wonder if we would perform under those trying conditions. Men have always wanted to test themselves in this fashion - personally I think counting coup (spelling?) was a cool idea. Anyway, the simple fact is that anyone can be in a war and no one is brave and a good soldier all of the time. Most people do what they have to do in wars - regardless of the reasons they are there to begin with - and just end up trying to survive the damn thing. This is pretty much of a rant - apologies all around....
  15. How's it going with the mac mods? Anyone know?
  16. Mac users only have one button on their mouse and so they can't right-click.
  17. Have you checked out my earlier thread? I dont know if this answers your question but give it a shot.
  18. Good points all! That's really the only thing that bugged me slightly.
  19. Only thing that bugs me about the game is that you can see the entire map in great detail even though this is entirely unrealistic. Seems like it would be more realistic and fair if you could only explore the map from top to bottom on the ground you take possession of. I dunno, what do you think? Also, do you guys usually play with trees on or off? I usually play with them off so I can see what is going on.
  20. I feel stupid for this, but anyone know how to get Netscape to download to your desktop instead of your browser? Changed the #@%$# thing only a few days ago and now I've forgotten how to change it back!
  21. Looks like you have to have a website to post the picture on first, and then post the html link. Eh, forget it...
  22. Anyone know? I wanna post a mac-modified picture.
  23. How to posted on Tips and Techniques forum.
