1. Looks OK to me on my G4 in OS 9.2.... What video card/drivers are you using?
2. Blitzkrieg worked more because the French were uncoordinated at all military scales than for any tactical reason. Also, in 1940, there were no personal AT weapons - you had to kill a tank with a gun.
3. You know, I fly all over Normandy in WarBirds III and don't see anything down there either. (Well, actually, I do, but that ruins the joke....)
4. Alan, please edit your post to get rid of force composition information. There may be folks who haven't started playing one of the scenarios and any info could tip them off. Yes, even a tiny hint could have an effect.
5. I don't have to delete anything before I run CM, or anything else for that matter.
6. And for more info on that, check out my http://www.101squadron.com/
7. I can't wait for CM: Dad's Army, with Home Guard AT units armed with pieces of rail, a blanket, and a jerrycan of petrol.
8. Just a FYI, I'll be out of town Thursday night to Sunday night. I should still be in e-mail contact and I'll have a laptop with CM, but I'd prefer to wait to play it on my home desktop Mac. On the bright side, I'm a freelance bum, so I can get to it first thing Monday morning.
9. Hi guys. Thanks for the answer. Apex - Tone comes around here too, on occasion....
10. What does it mean when a heavy building gains an asterisk in CM, so that the terrain type becomes "heavy building*".
11. My standard attacking tactic in VOT is almost always to smoke the hell out of the 75 in the bunker while my tanks take out all the MG bunkers and hopefully the IG as well.
12. Here are the default scenarios done in such a manner. Some of the extra-long scenario names have been shortened. Those scenarios specified by month only have been assigned to the 15th day of that month. very few scenarios list a time of day, and those times with question marks are my guesses based on scenario descriptions. Training scenarios are noted.
13. Has anyone made a chronological list of the default scenarios in CMBO, so that if you wanted to play them in the order of appearance, you can?
14. Luxury! When I was young, I played WarBirds and paid $2 an hour! And I had to get up an hour before we went to bed, and we had cold gravel for breakfast. Now, of course, WarBirds is only $25 a month.
15. We at TechPubs have a growing set of WWII equipment articles. We have started including the references we use and trust, although a lot of our information comes from first-hand sources like military and company docs. We're mostly focused on the Blitzkrieg period at the moment. http://www.wwiitechpubs.com/
16. This is just so bizarre that the only thing that makes sense is that the soldiers fell off the tank.... I had a Sherman moving up well behind the front lines and behind a hill and the enemy's dangerous bits were all smoked in. The Sherman, regular and unbuttoned, was giving a ride to a regular bazooka team, which had orders to disembark at some point. The Sherman started descending a fairly steep slope (but still traversable), and the bazooka team went cautious. Then, all of a sudden, the bazooka team was dismounted and shaken. There was no enemy fire anywhere near the area I watched for it very, very carefully, many, many times. It was broad daylight, so no friendly fire. The only thing that makes any sense is that the bazooka team went cautious as it lost its balance, then was shaken as it fell off. Yes? No?
17.
quote:
And the last Australian or New Zealander Major League Baseball star was....

Probably Dave Nilsson, catcher (1999 All-Star). The next will be Luke Prokopec, pitcher. Gotta love his K/BB ratio.
18. As fa as amoking with AFVs, I do have two Shermans that are smoking quite nicely, but it's black smoke and stationary right over them. The reason my platoon could get so close was smoke, from a friendly 81-mm mortar. The German mortar won't be a problem as it is also still in the smoke and seems to have no idea I'm so close (already within 100 m). One last deatil - do I have to move the infantry in front of the slit to take it out?
19. Old thread, new question.... I have flanked a wooden bunker anbd a concrete pillbox with a rifle platoon and a bazooka - the troops are about 150 meters away with only a German mortar team to stop them. I'd like to save the bazooka to deal with AFVs. Can plain old infantry take out bunkers/pillboxes? Just target the constructions?
