  1. Just tried recording only the action parts of the battle and cutting them together to form one long video of the battle.

And i also record it from the point of view of one unit (in this case Barkmanns panther).

Just wondering if you guys think this looks good and if i should do it with other missions?

It was kinda interesting to do, but i can't see it being used on missions where a vehicle doesn't play a major role in the battle.

  2. Much like soldiers did in real life during WWII, if they think they are safe, they will gently stroll down the middle of the grass since thats the easiest path, but if they think they are goin to be in danger, they will stick to the more difficult, but better covered parts of the path...

The fact that you have an omnipotent view of the landscape means nothing to how they should be pathing.

  3. Speaking of audio engineering, you know those gun and MG sounds that play in the background during an orders phase? They sound so obviously synthesized that it is a little annoying. Is there any way they could be modded to sound more authentic? I fear that they reside in the part of the code that is inaccessible to modders.

    Michael

Isnt that just the backgrounds sound?

There are two background files in my soundmod.

  4. Sounds awesome, but is there anyway you could remove the brass hitting the ground sound?

    Unfortunately no :(

I feel that its ok, but I know some dont.

But the only way for me to remove that would be to get new sounds for the guns involved, and that is quite alot of guns unfortunately.

I might release a "brass free" alternative someday, but not any time soon.

I suggest trying out the sounds from the other soundmods for CMBN and picking replacements for the ones you dont like until i can be arsed to do an alternative version.

  5. (since i couldnt edit my last thread to change the title, i made a new thread).

Here are some preview videos of my sound mod:

Cannons (not all of them): http://youtu.be/E4di7l3mEy8

And as posted in the other thread, here is the link to my mod: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/4970/details

  6. Did you know that on the bottom of vodka Finland is the swastika pattern? - otherwise a very good vodka, but compared to the Polish spirits is rather a "tonic";)

Vodka is the cure all cultural differences / Language;)

Umm... no swastikas on any of the finnish vodkas ive had. (and i only drink finnish or rusisan vodka)

  7. Odball,

    are you an advocate?

I was not saying that was a common problem, I have tried to identify my problem ,someone said to me that he had not problem with a scorning manner by sampling some science areas to me without help. I had to show my problem via a video because I had a problem, that was the reality according to me. What Steve suggested to me is trying demo another computer :-). Yes I'm sure it will be worked but my problem will not be solved.

If I had not defined my problem in this topic, my problem would not be solved.

Because there is no any info in manual or in game.

So I'm happy about my problem has solved.

So after solution of this problem, BFC have seen that some actions has to be taken in the program about "clicking precision on / off selection for ATI cards" is not needed from now on.

    Regards

Well from your posts it sounded like you implied that it was a common problem. Something that many people had.

And people were trying to give you sollutions but you took it as insults.

Anyway, this is (hopefully) a language barrier thing so im just not going to continue this discussion since you will probably never understand why people thought you did something wrong.

  8. Right...

    Two things:

1: I dont create sounds, I only pilfer them from other sources. Very rarely do i actually change them (but it happens, but only to add things like bolt action or the likes)

B: Why the heck are you guys not creating soundmods when you so obviously know much more about it than I do?

EDIT: oh and the G41 was only drowned out because of its similareties to the Kar98k sound i have and because around 40 soldiers were firing their Kar98k's around 3 guys firing their G41's... im sure it works fine if you have it somewhat isolated (say in just a squad)

  9. Steve

I don't think that my behaviour is childish, I had a problem, I can't find a detailed information in your manual. In game menu, it's addressed as "it's preferable to use some ATI cards for increasing clicking performance". With this definition , "on" has to be selected for me.

I didn't know which one is better "on" or "off"

Please also take care with your attitude problem against a customer, beyond over that, against a human , by repeating every reply, by scorning

Ok I understand you replied me , you have lost your uber precious time

But your company learned that it's better to delete above "ATI clicking option" for preventing their user selecting as "on" while that is not needed

please try to learn to listen your customer voices with a kind way before critisizing their behaviour as childish,

I have been investing or buying your computer games - CM series- since CMBO time. I'm opening our national gamer forums some topics in order to be familirized my country people - I think there is no or limited people playing from Turkiye- to CM series.

If I had acted with a bad way or swear something , I can understand.

Thanks to all forum mates replying me and for solving my problem

Well you did claim that the bridge thing was a very common problem and when people replied that they didnt have the problem, you acted as if they were lying.

And then you told Michael Emrys that "I'm sure that I'm better than you all the way in this game" which is hardly a mature behaviour.

You also said this to me:

So where is the fix before introducing bigger bridges my friend?

I can't pass the small bridge as it can be seen at above post attached video

    :-)

You sounded snarky and offensive when saying that. (and as it turns out, the problem had been fixed a long time ago)

You then went on to tell Steve that he was diverting the topic (which he was not, but you were. This thread was not about pathing problems with bridges)

Also, saying this: "how can I pass famous Holland bridges while I can't pass even a fictive village bridge?" is a pretty combattive statement.

After that you claimed that Steve was "leaving you all alone" when in fact he was trying to help you by suggesting things you could try to fix it.

But since you cannot see the abrasiveness of your posts, im pretty sure this is not going to get through to you either.

But you ARE acting childish and stubborn.

  10. Hangs head in shame for being person B :D

Yeah I know it repeats. It is the repeating person A that drives me nuts. Must ... try ... to ... resist ... next ... time.

Don't worry, it could be worse.

I've been hanging on the SW:TOR forums alot these last years (yes, i love star wars, so sue me) and there was one person there that started thread after thread after thread with deliberately abusive and aggressive topics disguised as a "here is my view, lets discuss this" post.

And then whenever someone answered she would either answer that "well thats just your opinion" and insult the person, or if they even slightly sounded aggressive in their response she would say something along the lines of "why are you harassing me? you are breaking rule xxxx in the TOS and im reporting you"

To make things worse, she almost always ended each post with:

"Thank you, have a good day! :)"

Drove me nuts! (and i wasnt alone).

In comparison to those forums this place is pretty decent :D

  11. but we are not out of nowhere, a regular of 10 years visiting Polish Forum CM, buying your games from the very beginning - even I have spent months working to make a sound mod http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=110567

so our short presence here is not a determinant of our experience / age

Due to language barriers you are misunderstanding him.

He is not saying that YOU came out of nowhere.

He is saying that when someone makes a post that is whiny or aggressive there is always someone that "pops up from nowhere" to defend the person, despite the first person being obviously overreacting and not listening to reason.

YOU would be the first person in this case. The one overreacting.

Togi is the one "popping up out of nowhere" to defend you despite you overreacting in a very clear and obvious way.

  12. PS. Note that my frustration with Togi is based on his behavior, not on the fact that he DOES have a legitimate technical problem. The problem isn't his choice or mine, but how he handles himself is. I have to deal with both issues and if anybody cares to notice I am.

I love smaller independant developers because they are not afraid to show when they are getting annoyed at someone :)

Most major developers would have been oh-so cautious in their response to this, which is a contributing factor in why this behavior is so wide spread nowadays (IMHO)
