  1. Yep, he was using my map.. but he also said he didn't have it when I asked him about it early in CMSF 2 development.
  2. Made the edit to fix the error that @Sgt.Squarehead pointed out... ...also made a tweak to Rule 4.c.ii and what constitutes a scout team. I got to thinking that not just any team can fill that role, and to keep players from using things like dismounted mortar or vehicle crews as scouts. Let me know what you think. Hard-Cat Rules PDF Link Also updated the images and the link in the original post. Bil
  3. I have made a small update to the Hard-Cat Rules. Here is the PDF link for the rules (in case you want to download them). The initial post has also been updated. Version 2H Changes: Rule 4b. Changed this from limit of two waypoints to only allowing orders within LOS of the unit. Optional Rule 4d. Changed this from limit of two waypoints to only allowing orders within LOS of the unit. The purpose of this change is to more accurately reflect the intent of the rule, mainly to simulate hip-pocket orders at the very lowest level.. for example, a squad or team leader shouts "Move to that wall, fast!" Feel free to discuss.
  4. There was.. I created a map of John Wayne Pass for CMSF1 back in the early days. I lost it in a computer crash many years ago and have been searching for it ever since.. I know someone has it on a hard drive somewhere. Bil
  5. Teafort Mountain is closer to Bicycle Lake, definitely not within the boundaries of this Red Pass map. Bil
  6. @Sgt.Squarehead, @MOS:96B2P, as promised here is the NTC map download link. Remember this was built in CMBS and was never able to transfer it into CMSF2. Note, this map is about 90% complete... all I had left to do was depress the elevation slightly for all of the wadis on the map... currently they are just painted on. Still its perfectly serviceable as is. If either of you (or anybody else) build a scenario with it please let me know. Bil
  7. I’ll post a link to that map for you guys to download this weekend. Bil
  8. Chris, I created one for CMSF 1 way back in the day based on John Wayne Pass... lost that map many years ago though. I also created a Red Pass map for CMBS, but never built a scenario to go with it. So yes it's possible. NTC Red Pass Map:
  9. It helps if you ping him like this @Battlefront.com I will also email him for you and have him get back to you. Bil
  10. Unless there was something I missed I believe you are thinking about my Command Friction rules and Google Sheets orders tracker. That version never got a lot of traction due to the unfamiliarity with Excel like workbooks. I seriously recommend you use the Hard-Cat rules instead (link in my sig), they are much easier to play... especially if you are going to try @MOS:96B2P's campaign then the Hard-Cat rules is what you want. Bil
  11. That version is obsolete.. this is the link to the Hard-Cat rules... much easier to use. Bil
  12. @Michael Emrys, adding my voice to the chorus.. welcome back, your absence was felt. Bil
  13. The free books for week 2 have just been posted: Free Osprey Books - Week 2
  14. @Haiduk much respect to your research skills. Bil
  15. Well.. all I know is my reply which you quoted was tongue in cheek.. can't say the same for yours. I for one feel extremely lucky that the CMx2 series exists in as many forms as it does. Bil
  16. I enjoy his videos as well John. my favorites were the couple he did on the M-26 in combat... very interesting stuff. Here is one: and here's another: Bil
  17. Larger maps and more units? I love playing Battalion level games as much as the next guy, but Company (plus) level, this game's sweet spot, is where the game really shines... the large games take a long time to setup, a long time to complete a turn, and can be excruciating to suffer through. Eventually you get to a point where the game loses its appeal, to me anyway. The only way that would work is if they also implement a Command Level orders system and SOPs (ala Command Ops)... but then that would make it a completely different game. Be careful what you ask for. Bil
  18. In my CMSF 2 BETA AAR against @Baneman I used quick move for my unconventional fighters to attempt to redeploy to a position several hundred meters away... they got tired and then exhausted very quickly, then they became easy targets (bottom of the post at that link)... that ended their deployment and really took them out of the fight. Not all formations are created equally.. some are more fit, some carry less gear than others, but all will tire eventually, some much sooner than others. Use quick move as much as you want, but keep a close eye on your unit's condition.. when it starts to deteriorate it can go downhill very fast. Bil
  19. Thanks.. yeah @sPA505 told me the same thing via PM... I knew about the aborted calf angle but I didn't get the foolish person bit (its not an American term obviously).. that line makes more sense now. Bil
  20. With the help of @sPA505 I have posted a full translation with some commentary of the German pamphlet: Tactically Correct Driving Armored Personnel Carrier (Shützenpanzerwagon (SPW) . Enjoy! And thanks for the translation Holger!
  21. It is definitely dependent on the amount of weight they are carrying, so yeah, good observations. I like it, a poor-man's SOP. Let's get a petition together.
