  1. Ha ha nice posts guys! In the Hamilton area (cough cough **too much Smog**) and I received Strategic Command in about 5 Business days........sooooo hoping for late next week! We will see I guess...........
  2. Ok maybe its a little early this weekend, but lets see who is lucky enough this week? Toronto? Vancouver? Montreal? Any takers who will be first. Maybe Quebec I'm thinking. Hmmmmm well its something to do while we Canucks wait.
  3. Ya I think you might be right although they say its "way different engine"
  4. Well this is what their promo states!! You decide if it has potential or not? Seems interesting......when/if you ever get bored of SC. I think they are releasing it in Nov/02 "Hearts of Iron is the first ever World War II PC game of true Grand Strategic scope. The game map spans the entire world and allows players to take the War to any new front of their choosing. Any nation in the world is playable, but the game focuses on the epic struggle between the great alliances of the new world orders Fascism, Communism and Democracy. Hearts of Iron is developed by the team behind the awardwinning sales success Europa Universalis I and II and brings the same superdetail to a modern day gaming experience. Hearts of Iron aims to be no less than the definitive World War II strategic experience. Epic gameplay - Global map with all the nations between 1936-1946 Scenario Editor - Allows the players to modify and construct their own settings and campaigns and add national detail in thousands of combinations! Will assure great replayability and community activity! Deep diplomatic model - Unique system to simulate political systems and their effect on neutral nations in relation to alliances. Highly advanced research model - Change the course of war by getting superweapons and better production capabilities. Real Time gameplay set to pause at any time. Historical generals and political leaders. Thousands of real persons researched for individual detailed uniqueness. Strategic level military system - over 100 different ground, air and naval forces fighting the total war on divisional level. Optimized for Multiplayer - Hearts of Iron enables players to easily meet over the net through our proprietary Valkyrienet matchmaking service. 2 hours of quality musical recordings in MP3 format." Hopefully Hubert will make an SCII that includes the whole planet.....that would rock! Thanks Hubert for the 10's of hours of enjoyment. ps ok maybe a pacific add on? Thanks [ August 29, 2002, 11:51 AM: Message edited by: RCMP ]
  5. Thanks Hubert for the update appreciate it greatly.
  6. Well I think both programs will be excellent nevertheless. As it stands SC has proven itself, HOI has yet to do so. HOI certainly sounds good. EUII was very successful in retail sales...... for a grand strategic game this is very rare indeed. Anyways Hubert any idea on the M/P patch. Maybe September? 13. Ya SC is going to be great to play. You may also want to consider another stategic WWII program Hearts of Iron. www.paradoxplaza.com Both games will be great. HOI is not going to be out till Oct-Dec of this year. SC will gets lot of play by then . You are correct, these are the only games like themselves in 10 years....I think class of steel was 9-10 years ago.
  14. Bump...... Ha Ha...... Actuallly O.P.P Reverse of 39701 Toronto Detach.
  15. Thats better than a one liner. Keep up the hard work, maybe next Friday we will all be pleased!!
  16. Thanks Hubert!! I can hardly wait to start complaining about your release date for SC II All the best to your latest project
  17. It is frustrating isn't it. Whats does it take for a quick one liner? I have said I would not use Hags crack on principle. However I am having a hard time not trying it just for a little peak..........willpower fading............ all kidding aside I would never use that idiot's crack no matter what.
  18. I agree with Tom I live in the Hamilton/Toronto Area and it would be nice for a sneak peak !!! Dinner.......bar tab paid for etc etc
  19. Soooo Moon are we still a go for pre-orders for July??? Thanks
  20. Soooo Moon are we still a go for pre-orders for July??? Thanks
  21. How do you think SC will compare to Hearts of Iron due to be released in Oct by Strategy Fist. From what I see they appear quite similar however I wonder whether or not HOI maybe more detailed ie. covers the whole planet, bit more micromanaging. I hope both have a great showing. The marketing people however I think would be wise to release their product before HOI due the following HOI has via the Europa II crowd. It give us two fine products to purchase. Either way both are vast improvements to the old board game "World in Flames"!! My two cents...... Thks [ June 29, 2002, 04:30 PM: Message edited by: RCMP ]
