  1. Hi Vercingetorix13 I have included some information on this in a thread in our WWI forum for new players, and much of the detail will be relevant for Global Conflict Gold too: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=107356 My own thoughts are in post 38 on page 4. Of course, amend the WWI detail to make more sense for WWII where appropriate! Bill
  2. That's right, there won't be a message to specifically mention that China is receiving the MPPs, they are just included in China's overall MPP collection.
  3. Hi Strategiclayabout The income to China is actually given via the resources on the bottom right edge of the map, with the Hanoi-Kunming railroad being provided by the mines in 480,199 and 482,199. The Burma road is represented by the mines in 476,199 and 478,199. Hopefully these are all working as expected, but I can see that it can cause concern when you see the direct penalty applied to the US, but with no visible mention of the income for China. Bill
  4. Hi Strategiclayabout is right in most things, though for the naval blockade the NM cost per turn per tile blockaded is: 20 for the Northern Blockade near Norway, and 10 for the Distant Blockade north west of Scotland. So the more tiles that the blockaders occupy, the more effective the blockade. This historically was a real killer to Germany. Defeating the Entente navies, or making them move away from the blockade to deal with submarines and raiders could help here. The penalties from Holland vary according to its diplomatic status, as even if it has a pro-Entente leaning but remains neutral, some food is being imported to Germany via it. But if it joins the Entente, then imports completely end and the per turn penalty doubles from 50 to 100 NM points. If you conquer Holland, then the per turn penalty reduces to 75 NM points, so were Holland to actually join the Entente, then invading and conquering it would be a wise move. Bill
  5. What may be decisive is whether the Germans head for France as one would expect, or for Italy or Palestine?
  6. Hola Mandra There is a Spanish Civil War campaign in the SC2 Expansion Weapons and Warfare. Things have improved greatly in the game engine since that was released, so it doesn't use all the features now possible, but it is there if you want to play it. The Global Conflict and Brute Force campaigns are quite different from each other, and as Brute Force is a mod that can be downloaded for free, if you have Global Conflict then you can play Brute Force too. I hope that answers your questions? Bill
  7. Given the comparison between French and German National Morale, and your cool move in taking then evacuating Gallipoli, I think you've still got a good chance. But there will be German reinforcements soon arriving from the Eastern Front... good luck in dealing with them!
  8. Hi Dominik In the example you've given, activating it to each computer would use up one of your activations, so you'd have used three in that instance. There is no way to erase the first activation, but if you ever reach the activation limit then the best thing to do would be to contact the Battlefront Helpdesk by raising a ticket with them. Bill
  9. Hi 1) The zone of control acts as a penalty to movement, so moving into tiles under the influence of enemy units reduces your movement by 2 Action Points, and this also slows down movement moving across the front of enemy units. Here's the relevant section from the Manual: In your second example, it is true that without knowledge of enemy positions, movement doesn't suffer from the same zone of control rules, though your cavalry unit did risk taking heavy casualties from a surprise contact when going for the mine, so sometimes the costs of making that sort of move significantly outweigh the benefits. Naval units don't exert zone of control, it's just for land combat. 3) I see what you mean and this might be something to think about, though I do feel that the extent to which I can currently use it to advance into enemy territory is generally about right. I'd be interested to hear more thoughts on this though, as if we were to make any changes they would have to work in all circumstances. Bill
  10. Hi Kingstuart Sorry to hear about the problems, hopefully Hubert may be able to suggest something. I've just checked my serial number for PDE and it is 36 characters long. Bill
  11. Hi Dominik I don't know the answer to all your questions, but on this, the activations are for whatever PC you are using, so for example if you licensed the game on one PC, then bought a new one, you can license the new one and that is two activations used up. I hope that makes sense. Bill
  12. Hi I suspect that the first point relates to a mixture of the terrain and the zone of control imposed by the surviving Serbian units on that point, as the zone of control effectively reduces your action points. On point 2, if you select a land or naval unit (but not an air unit) then hold down Ctrl on your keyboard, you should be able to select a movement path for it. Point 3 is an interesting one, and while I do agree that in some circumstances it would make sense, in others it would be far too exploitative and lead to crazy situations. For example, if you were able to destroy two adjacent enemy units on the western front, and there was no enemy behind them, then if you have sufficient reserves (especially cavalry) behind your lines, then being able to force march into enemy territory could lead to your forces being able to take lots of territory and towns and cities - far more in fact than would have been possible in real life. It's largely for this reason that we've limited forced march to moving on friendly territory, where your men will receive some resupply. One thing forced marching units can do already is to "capture" the empty tiles around where their move ends, and by having a number of units force marching in sequence it is possible to make the Germans get quite some way into Belgium and northeast France in the first turn or two in August 1914. Bill
  13. Hi Cfant Glad to hear you've been enjoying the WWI game! The engineers unit is available in the WWII campaign 1939 Storm over Europe that you can download with one of the patches, and it builds fortifications in the same way as Infantry and Cavalry units can build them in WWI - but they take longer. US entrance into the war was far from guaranteed, which is why it is tied into the actions that take place during the war, and the US did complain at the naval blockade of Germany because theirs and other neutral shipping was stopped and searched by the British. In 1812 the same thing had led to war between Britain and the USA, but fortunately that won't happen here! There is some information on US mobilization in this thread, towards the end: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=107356 Bill

  16. Hi Mathias It might be best to re-post your questions here then maybe someone can try to answer them. As to the animations, if I've understood correctly then any existing images can be amended but more can't be added. Bill
  17. Hi Fountainhead While the boxed version of the Global Conflict game does come with a printed manual, all the games, boxed or digital, come with pdf files containing more information that will be best viewed either electronically or printed out. Each game has seen improvements to the engine itself and the features included, and the pdf documents will explain these as well as providing specific campaign information where appropriate. Bill
  18. The best thing to do will be to post a question here, as then if they visit they can respond, or others can respond if they know or can work out the answer!
  19. Hi There is a new German language After Action Report of our 1941 Barbarossa to Berlin campaign here: http://www.si-games.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26774 For those who don't speak German, there are plenty of images and google translator or other tools like that will help get the gist of the action! Bill
  20. Hi Cfant My bad too, as I also assumed you were playing Global Conflict Gold. I'm afraid that these features aren't included in the base game, and can only be obtaining by buying the Gold version. Bill
  21. Hi Mathias They certainly are! The global game has been a truly multinational effort. Bill
  22. Hi Cfant 1) Moving units on the roads will negate the effect of bad weather on movement, and supply levels are also crucial too. Have your units keep close to towns and cities as they head west, or near to HQs as they provide supply too. One thing you can do is to Forced March your units from east to west. This does tire them out, so don't over use it, but it will greatly speed up their movement. To Force March, select the unit, look at the top right of the interface and there will be an icon there which if you select, will greatly increase the movement range of your unit. Note that you cannot attack in the same turn as using forced march, or if they start the turn adjacent to the enemy. Some units such as HQs, partisans, air and naval units cannot force march. 2) Planning ahead is the key, as once a unit has moved or attacked and you've deselected it, its turn is over. I don't know if you've seen this thread but it may be worth your while to go through it, or at least to bookmark it: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=107356 Although the details are taken from our WWI game, most things work the same way in our WWII games, and this should help your Panzer conquests! Bill
  23. That's true, and just to explain, the changes I posted above are those that can easily be implemented without any engine changes. I am definitely interested in the ideas raised here about AA upgrades on units, but anything requiring technical changes will probably have to wait for a future release. Bill
  24. Hi Ashes Fall Germany gains Russian Poland from either signing the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk or if Russia's National Morale falls below 1%. In the guide, it looks as though the comments in the "No" section for Decision 619 referring to new territories and annexations also need to be placed elsewhere, as they are what will happen either through signing the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk or if Russia's National Morale falls below 1%. Signing the Treaty will make these happen sooner, but they may still happen even if no treaty is signed. DE 622 refers to the First Russian Revolution, i.e. the fall of the Tsar and Kerensky's rise to power. This event is a trigger for the Lenin decision, so is not dependent on it. Finland faced a civil war between its strong workers movement and the more conservative forces under Mannerheim, and if the Finnish Reds are beaten then the country will swing to a political stance favourable to the Central Powers and provide trade. Thus the pro-Entente leaning mentioned is automatic when the country gains independence, and is what needs to be affected to obtain the defeat of the Red forces, victory for Mannerheim, and trade with Germany, and sending von der Goltz which achieve this. The Ukraine gains its independence from Russia if either the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk is signed, or if Russia's National Morale falls below 1%. On gaining its independence, it will immediately attain an alignment of 60% towards the Central Powers, but it will only retain this if five German units are kept within a few tiles of Warsaw. These units represent those stationed in the east to maintain grain supplies from the Ukraine and keep the Bolsheviks and others at bay. The NM represents food exports, whereas conquering the country would disrupt food production and trigger economic problems. Having Romania as neutral and unconquered gives them the ability to supply food, which is why the peaceful way may be the better one! Bill
