  1. No. And it has been talked about but no one in the conversation seemed interested in doing it. Having people pay to beta test doesn't sit well with anyone. What will be released with Cold War will be a complete game that we hope will have no bugs or needed tweaks. We always strive for that.....sometimes when a game has hit the masses previously unspotted bugs appear and we pump out a hot patch. But we don't knowingly release something that has unfixed bugs and can't imagine a future where we do. And this is coming from a guy who can imagine flying cars, a Lobsters in Space game and carrying all of the world's knowledge in a small device in your pocket. ..........Oh, wait...About that last one.....
  2. No. There will be no printed Cold War specific manual. The only manuals that are printed are the game engine manuals. Pre-orders get a little bit of a head start on downloading the game when it's released.
  3. Puttin me on the spot Icedude. If I were a betting man (and I am). I would bet on Fire and Rubble first but Cold War still having an April release. I would give 2:1 odds on that and 3:1 odds on both being out in April, regardless of the order. (CYA...none of that is a promise. But it is an educated guess. Please bet responsibly. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem please call the hotline in your state http://www.gamblersanonymous.org/ga/?q=hotlines)
  4. Yes. Something catastrophic would have to happen for that to now be the case.
  5. I just finished "unpinning" nearly every topic in the Fire and Rubble beta forum (2 remain). Almost all of those threads are moot now. That isn't enough to say "very" yet but it's a step closer.
  6. We figured most people would be interested in checking it out. But I'm happy that there is an "opt out" (by not installing the new builds) for those who don't
  7. Kinda. Any patches (or whatever we'll call) that come along between the April release and June will be optional. If someone doesn't want to participate in adding the new system to their Cold War game all they have to do is not download and install any of the patches/builds that come out during the development. As CptMiller says, when it is released it will have the same features as every other Combat Mission game. So it's not really a beta version. It will be early access to the new system for those who want it.
  8. Yes, pre-orders are still open. The physical manual is the Game Engine 4 manual and not specific to Cold War. So, if you already have the 4.0 Manual then you probably don't want another.
  9. I think that I can answer this for Steve....... Sure. Because we have seen that those will be more popular and a better use of our resources. That seems to be what he has been saying in his last few posts. "We could do it but it would be at the expense of other titles that would be more widely popular" (I think that I speak "Steve" fluently) Unrelated.......we reached a milestone in Fire and Rubble last night.
  10. To a degree. Umlat's post on the previous page sums up Steve's stance (in his own words) pretty well.
  11. I've got nothing official to announce but let's just say that it would be a stunning development if this were the end of WW2 content.
  12. {whispers} I know...I know. But then the guns would be pointed at me with people saying "why did you give us this! Its not even finished!"
  13. Enough. As has been pointed out this isn't the place for political discussions. I am sure there are forums out there that are more suitable but this isn't one of them. It looks like you're brand new here so I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt. This isn't a thread that I intend to lock. Which means if it continues I'll need to use other means to bring this to a halt. Got it, everyone?
  14. Here are a few more to pick over. Ben takes very nice screenshots.
  15. Your Battlefront copy is still on track to be available to you in April. Access to your Steam version will not be available until June. All Combat Mission games purchased on the Battlefront.com website also come with access to the Steam version.
  16. I'm not one of the Fightin 41....So, ya didn't steal it from me.
  17. I have corrected the false bits. (and a couple of spelling and grammar things)
  18. If you own Cold War then you are already in (even though it hasn't been released yet).
  19. You have no idea how much I want to change my avatar to this. But I'm not one of the 41.
  20. That is exactly what he is saying. Well, not as a forum member but as a Cold War owner.
  21. Since our store does not require anyone to enter their age this is purely anecdotal........ I think a few years ago much of the audience was aging. 40s-60s. Working the Help Desk I interact with a lot of people. I now believe the customer base is spread across most ages (20s-70s). I frequently get tickets from people who have gotten the game for a college class. They've become hooked. And the modern titles have brought in people that are in active service and want to play a game that uses the toys that they use. And then look deeper into the WW2 stuff. The Cold War game has been outing a lot of people that served during that time. And then, of course, there are the OGs.....like me. I know how old Steve is (when we met the first time it was part of the conversation.......he was younger than I expected) but it isn't my place to talk about it. Last year I hit a big number that a lot of people back in the 80's would have bet against me ever reaching. So, there is your unscientific answer. I'd expect that as more and more titles are released on Steam the average age will drop.
