Some may know this story....and others may not. The Road to Nijmegen campaign for Market Garden was broken for a lot of people. We wanted to fix it but we were missing a very important file used to create a campaign. One of everyone's favorite and most skilled scenario/campaign designers, @Paper Tiger, had created the campaign. He stepped away from the Combat Mission world for a while and we were unsuccessful trying to reach him to get the missing file. Paper Tiger has returned! Despite a dead computer he was able to locate the file and has redone the naughty bits. Excellent point that I meant to say. It could come back from HQ that it is working as designed. And @Vacillatoris correct. If it is determined to be a bug it wouldn't be fixed until the next patch.

I can confirm that a bunker with men in it can spot 360 degrees. An empty bunker does not. And neither can fire.....although they can draw a target line. I did this with CMBN. I'll test them all before reporting it. Thanks!

I've just been going through the mess that you're referring to. If it starts up again there will be vacations given. They may even end up being given to the wrong people, if I accidently take the posts out of context. Anyone who wants to avoid getting some time away should stay out of the mud.

Yes. The full game installers are all up to speed. What that means for people is one of 2 things. If you purchased the game using Game Engine 4 then the link is a full installer. If you purchased it when it was still using Game Engine 3 then the 4.0 Upgrade's download link is the full game installer. Short version, any download that you have that uses Game Engine 4 is the full game installer. That goes for ALL CM2 titles.

This patch is part of that process. I played CMBN on Steam this morning. At this point it is getting the promotional stuff together, making sure it works properly, getting the Battlefront keys set up so that Battlefront owners can get Steam keys at no charge, etc...... (sorting through those license keys all week is why I'm cross-eyed today)

We've done a bit of research and it looks like we did lose Andy/Sgt.Squarehead. An obituary had been found (not by me....so no link) of someone with his exact name in the town he lived in passing away last year on February 14th......The last day he was logged into this forum. Like you, I really liked the guy too. He always brought somefink and had a great sense of humor. I'd love to be wrong and have him post that the rumors of his death are greatly exaggerated.

I would say exit them. Not for the exiting points but so that you'll have less people available to die. Unless, you feel like you can cause more casualties with them remaining on the map than you might lose by leaving them on. The part about them being counted as casualties by not exiting won't apply unless you finish the battle.

That is pretty much what the fix is. But lower than that. There needs to be an incentive to complete the battle. The fix is working fine so far. We decided not to release it for this tournament because, if we did the tournament would be over since the scores are so high from Round 1 that hey could never be caught in Rounds 2 and 3.

HHHmmmm.... I get a kick out of him too and I feel bad that I hadn't noticed his a him absence. I really hope that he's ok. I've done a tiny bit of investigative work. His BFC store account does not use the same email address as his forum account. But he did use the same user name for his store account. I assume that it is his account (what are the chances that one person would have a forum user name of Stg.Squarehead and different person would have the same user name for a store account?) , although the account is in a woman's. I'll shoot an email today.

Excellent question. It's also a question that I'd hoped to address after I do some testing today on a new Normandy build with new tournament scoring. It looks like this entire tournament will be dependent on casualties and not completing battles. We've revamped how the "running score" is done. As we prepare Normandy for Steam it is the first title that has it and I will be doing the first testing on it today (although the first public "test" tournament will be Shock Force 2).
