  1. I was a little surprised that the list was so long. When I hear back from HQ I will let you folks know if any of these are intentional.
  2. There is a laundry list of missing units. All have been submitted to HQ. Here's the complete list: Vehicles Missing from Single Vehicle menu Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär (mid) Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär (late) Elefant Hummel Pz IIIM (Flame) Soviet Units missing from Specialist Teams menu DP LMG (Army and Guards) DPM LMG (Army and Guards) DShK HMG (Army and Guards) German Units missing from Specialist Teams menu Flamethrower (except Luftwaffe) LMG34 (Heer and SS) HMG34 (SS and Volkssturm) LMG42 (SS and Volkssturm) HMG42 (Volkssturm) PaK36(r) 76mm (Heer, SS and Luftwaffe except airborne) IeG18 75mm (Heer, SS and Luftwaffe armored infantry. Also Heer infantry prior to October and SS infantry prior to February)
  3. I have found the issue. It is not end user error. It is somefink that needs to be fixed and proper authorities have been notified. Thanks for flagging me with this one.
  4. Let me see if I can get you a more detailed answer. From the TO&E page on the Red Thunder page:
  5. Whenever I find myself wondering somefink like this I check the manual. That will usually show availability dates. The Dshk is not listed in either the base game or Fire and Rubble manuals.
  6. Welcome aboard!!! I feel the same way about the game. I played Advanced Squad Leader for year sand years and when home PCs started to be available for everyone I started to dream about a computer game that would do what the board game did.....but better. I got lucky and stumbled across a beta AAR being played by 2 guys that haven't posted here in ages Moon and Fionn. Each day I waited for a new installment. The screenshots and descriptions of tactics were gripping. Then that Fall Battlefront released a Public Beta Demo of Combat Mission Operation Overlord and it was all over. As you said...It was the game that I'd always wanted. And now, 24 years later it's even better. And even crazier, I now work for them full time!
  7. Are you able to open a Help Desk ticket? If so, do that. I need some personal information to suss out what I think you may be seeing now. It sounds like you're now seeing this: https://community.battlefront.com/topic/134202-cmsf2-getting-a-splash-screen-with-just-the-tank-firing-in-the-dark-heres-why/ But for Normandy....Not CMSF2 I was actually doing that last Saturday while playing with Peng. I have a Samsung Z Fold 4 that opens to be a small tablet. My choices while waiting for the slow group ahead of us was to either log into the Help Desk or talk to Peng. Guess which I chose.
  8. Let's start by seeing if this helps: https://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/help/article/127911
  9. You should always save the game in the orders phase before applying the patch (there is even a note about it in the readme file). This isn't possible if you are playing PBEM++ though. There are never any guarantees that earlier version saves will survive a patch.
  10. You're playing against our contact at Matrix/Slitherine, Mark. I've sent him a nudge.
  11. @ALBY and I just finished Round 2. That may have been the most fun that I've ever had with Shock Force (1 or 2). It really was a hoot. And super fun to see how he was handling the same situation differently than I was. I'm also thankful for his play and commentary while we were going at it. A real pleasure to play against him.
  12. You can determine it yourself, if you use the PBEM++ method. Create a Challenge with whatever size battle that you want. The other players can decide if they'd like to play one that side. And there plenty of people that like all sorts of sizes. Some like only huge battles for PBEM....some only like tiny battles. And everywhere in between.
  13. Use your 3.0/4.0 Upgrade to download and install the entire game. The original Game Engine 1 will not run on Windows 10 or 11.
  14. Whenever I have seen that it is because the patch installer was run out of the only place on their computer that they shouldn't run it. Inside the game's main directory folder.
  15. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. When someone contacts the Help Desk with issues, one of the first things I look for is if they have mods installed. I have some absolutely crazy things happen within the game because of mods. New builds can make previously fine mods to behave poorly. PIAT is pretty much right though. Might as well leave them in. If you have an issue though the first thing to do is remove all mods and see if that fixes it. If it does then reintroduce them until you hit the naughty mods.
  16. That is usually a missing file (or files) in the Data folder. Open a ticket on the Help Desk with a screenshot of the contents of your Data folder and we'll send you the missing file.
  17. The patches are now full game engine patches. This eliminates the step by step patch installation. Because of that they will be complete. The best move is to do like we do with scenarios, saved games, PBEM games and everything else that may change with a patch and back it up before applying the patch. Because your idea is good I will add it to the Readme files. (for what it's worth....I use the default hoykeys and like them just fine and wouldn't describe them as "awful". YMMV)
  18. Whenever I see somefink like this it usually turns out the person has a second account that they didn't realize or had forgotten about. We can check it out if you open a Help Desk ticket.
  19. I have asked about the reminder emails. If it's possible it would be great. The other things aren't gonna happen. In game PM ain't gonna happen. The Slitherine servers aren't able to complete a CM game, so that ain't gonna happen.
  20. This was discussed at great length. And no. Email addresses will not be sent to people for tournaments. However, your opponent does appear to have a Battlefront forum account and has been online in the past 7 hours. You can always send them a PM. @alwaysfish
  21. The scoring should be straightened out with what we are currently using. Regardless of how a battle ends, time runs out, surrender, ceasefire, the final end of game score should be reflected on the leaderboard. It looks like that is the case with @ratdeath's surrender. One of your battles shows that you received 2,000 points and he received 518. That would make sense in a surrender. You got the maximum amount of points for the battle (2,000) and he got what he got based on in game casualties caused. You should be able to see the end results though, through the game. No matter how the battle ends. I had the same thing in the first round. What happens is that you receive points and the other player is booted from the tournament.
  22. That's right, folks! We rarely have sales but in honor of Red Thunder being on Steam we're offing all of our games that are on Steam at a discounted price. Not just bundles!! Is there somefink that you've been considering but haven't pulled the trigger on? Now is the time! Red Thunder Battle for Normandy Cold War Shock Force 2 Black Sea All reduced for a limited time.
