The market place is filled...really filled with RT games. I don't care to play them... I know I'm in the minority, I understand that lot's of money is being made by game companies on RT products. BTS has introduced a game that I want, in a style that I want. For that I'm grateful, and enthusiastic in my support. I know what a small share of the market I and others like me really are. For those of you who enjoy RT play, great...have at it. But please, Leave this game for me

Hi Dick. I'm sure that the New Raiders Combat Mission Site will be just as great as the original Raiders site. Can't wait to see it. -

Won't give you a list or tain't you with my bias (Fionn...Shame on you. LOL). But here's how a got started building my library. I went to the public library and spent many hours just checking out what they had on WW2. When I wore them out I searched my local colleges and Universty library systems. This may sound strange but I really enjoy going and just digging around. When I got a handle on the authors I liked..I started buying...usually used book stores but the large chains will have something of interest or value. Finally I surfed the NET and the many sites that can be found.

dynamic lighting for night battles?
MarkEzra replied to MikeT's topic in Combat Mission Archive #1 (1999)
I really hope that future editions would have perhaps an add-on for those of us who can handle the increase MB/Vram needs to provide a more realistic battlefield. Flares, what a great idea! But what I wouldn't want to see is the game have it's market reduced because the average computer couldn't run it. -
Close Combat wishes in here?

Administrator: This has become a pointless thread. How about closing it out? -
Campers, Camping, and Camped out

Blackhorse: You use a term with which I'm unfamilar. Could you explain/describe "camping" for me, please -
I like teach's thinking and would hitch-hike the thought that we should send letters to the editors of WW2/History mags to investigate CM as a breakthrough War game

Re: Your Grandfather, Jack Anderson: People "elsewhere" may forget but not around here. That's the reason many of us do wargame and want/require/and bitch when we don't get, some semblance of historical accuracy. And it is why many are upset with companies who are insensitive to this point. -

Max That was Great! Hmmm by the way is that MY church? -
Ihave found that carefully replaying the turn from many very close in angles will usually show the shot hitting the target Infantry anti-tank rounds have distinctive dark shape.

Vodoo3 Graphics. I bought my E-Monster 500?P3 so I could download this demo I've been gaming w/486 just waiting for THE game to arrive that would make me break my piggy bank. Best money I've spent since my wedding license! -
A sound question...When troops are in "sneaking" mode do they bellow, "Get movin'", or not? Perhaps we could have an a phrase like....well, I don't know...maybe "Pipedown you morons, you want to get us all killed"...LOL
-
BTS will devote the next 3 years to WW2. Thanks, and thanks again. Now I don't have to worry that the company will take it's eye off the ball.

I've started two PBEM's...First and sending the.txt file seems to go just fine on my end but doesn't seem to work for my partners. Do the same after creating a zipfile and we're all squared away. The procedure I use is the same in either event. Am I doing something wrong or will this sometimes occur when Emailing?

A little game Company History. The Steel Panthers, set in WW2 was a mega hit. Instead of expanding and improving the game they did something that seemed logical and many people no doubt ask for...Steel P2, modern combat. It was a hit. I bought it, as I would by a CM modern Combat, but then I tend to support a good design team/company buy trying their products. The gaming communty wanted, as it turned out a larger bigger, more accurate world War 2 game. In Response to these demands, SP3. Too big, to Talonsoft like, whine, sniffle, cry. Bottom line Gamers themselves, stripped SP2 and 3 down to the frame, to build a game MOST of us wanted in the first place. Combat Mission engine can handle modern combat and IF the designers want to, they can build it. I only ask that they complete the monumental task at hand...World War Two.
