  1. Wow, the whole issue of integrating UAV observation with CAS will be really fun for us WWII-heads to learn! I'm looking forward to watching Bil show off some of these toys. I never was a fan of CMSF and, honestly, didn't expect to change my mind with Black Sea. But after following this DAR -- I'm definitely getting hooked!
  2. Perhaps a dumb-sounding question, but...Bil, I assume that each of your units calling in air support have direct LOS to the target areas?
  3. Agreed, Bil -- I can see where 2nd MRC will be well-positioned when the US forces hit the map. I can also see how your flanking 1st MRC forces, if caught at the wrong time, can be flanked themselves if the US comes in at the "wrong" time and in the "wrong" part of the map. But I have total faith in your ability to foresee such events!
  4. So you remain confident that 1st MRC will be able to (1) drive into the flank of and mop up Scott's remnant forces in the center of the map, AND (2) deploy those same units in the appropriate defensive posture to meet the approaching US forces? This will be very interesting to watch!
  5. Wow...5-7 minutes of some pretty serious carnage. Bil - Fantastic AAR, as always...I've really enjoyed this. As I'm a major noob in the area of modern warfare (the real modern warfare, not that console stuff!), CM opens up yet another area of research and discovery.
  6. Good movie overall...I really liked it. But seriously...that final one-on-one duel between Fury and the Tiger was straight out of a World of Tanks video advertisement on YouTube...sheesh...ricochets at 50 meters???!!!
  7. Well...seems more accurate to say that some people here are putting their political outlook ahead of their spending patterns. Case in point: I will not buy a book written by (and thereby contribute money to) Bill O'Reilly. Period. If it's a great read that's filled with new insight on an interesting event in history, then it's my loss. I'll have to look elsewhere. This increasingly tangential thread will almost surely close soon...
  8. Wow -- thanks for the vid, Bulletpoint -- stunning graphics indeed. I am also not a programmer, so I have no experience to add to the technical discussion here. But a CM3.x with this engine, while retaining the same "under the hood" computational complexity/realism that we enjoy now? That would be amazing. It's at least worth a discussion, eh?
  9. Fuser...I'm really sorry to hear about your cat's illness. I know how you feel. My father was a serious hard-ass ex-Marine who lived through Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Okinawa and the Chosin, and the only time I ever saw him cry was when he carried our terminally-ill dog out to the car to have her put down at the vet's office. I was about 10 years old, and I'll never forget it. Dealing with the death of a pet is really, really hard, no matter how old we are or how tough we think we are. Hang in there.
  10. Yeah, sure -- we frequent readers get it, mjkerner. But this post shows an amazing lack of strategic thought. Seriously, WTF were you thinking??!!?? OK -- time to let this thread die...
  11. Wow...very nicely done, Bil. This has been a great read. I know -- it ain't over 'til it's over -- but so far this looks like a surgical evisceration...
  12. Wow, that's an amazing shot -- the low profile of the ISU-122s, the complexity of the terrain, and especially the look of the breeze blowing the grasses from right to left...very, very cool. And it's this attention to detail that compels me to shell out a few dollars here and there to play CM games...Thanks Steve!
  13. Good stuff, sburke...I knew some tester out there would come through... Yeah, there are so many variables in this equation: terrain, unit type, unit condition, unit experience(?)...as with you, I don't expect an exact, quantitative relationship on hand during my gameplay -- but I would like some general sense of how I can expect my truppen to perform.
  14. I have indeed pondered...point taken, I guess Specifically, I was thinking of all this in a relative sense -- in terms of game mechanics, the "tiring times" for Slow, Hunt, Quick and Fast with Move as the reference. No, I haven't done my own tests -- but I'm hoping someone else has...!
  15. I've been wondering the exact same thing for some time now...this doesn't really make sense to me. "Hunting" to me suggests movement that is slow and deliberate but not necessarily physically demanding.
  16. Yes, most interesting! The graphic does a great job of explaining your moves...
  17. Well, well...now we know just what that "...something that is higher priority..." might have been, eh? Am reading your new CMRT AAR with great interest...yes, I guess this one will have to wait...thanks!!
  18. Looks like this has withered on the vine a bit...what happened?
  19. Yes, I would do away with NAV...nothing but trouble for many people in many situations. Unfortunately, previous versions were notoriously difficult to scrub off your machine. I hope this problem has been eliminated. I myself use what I consider to be excellent freeware called AVG...I recommend it! Good luck!
  20. If only... Urbandictionary.com? Seriously? What, so people in rural communities don't use such hip, trendy, happenin' lingo??? How elitist...
  21. In My (Humble) Opinion It Stands To Reason As Far As I Know Laughing Out Loud Laughing My Ass Off Rolling On The Floor Laughing What The F**k Etc...the rest is up to you!
