Javaslinger
I'm not quite ready to jump into campaigns... what's a good first battle to get my feet wet with a scenario that I could actually lose vs. the AI? Thanks, Javaslinger
argie
I found in "Platoon Patrol" a good start. Do it first as American.
gumby7
I found Brecourt the best 1st post-tutorial mission. Very small scale.
Agua
x2 Platoon Patrol
Ranger33
Get the Devil's Descent campaign, it's just the right scale for learning the game. You can easily win if you play right, but you have to make good use of everything you have.
finalcut
Cats chasing Dogs is a nice small one to play also.I am getting my ass handed to me by JonS in a PBEM game and I am enjoying it very much. I kinda wish I had tried it single player after the tutorial missions.I jumped into a Big battle and was so lost and overwhelmed it was ugly.I think Cats chasing Dogs is the smallest battle that came with the game.
Agua
Another one I've JUST got around to starting today is the user made campaign, "The outlaws". I'm into the 5th mission and so far the largest force I've had to handle was about two platoons with a CO & a tank section.
chris talpas
I too would recommend Devil's Descent. Missions are not too hard but are nice and varied. Good opportunity to improve your infantry skills. Chris
cool breeze
Cats vs. Dogs is the perfect size for your first one and was my funnest so far. It was super fun from both sides. I played USA first, it was a blast, its easier than the German side. Platoon Patrol is good and the right size too and it was fun but some of the germans were one the wrong sides of the hedges which made it too easy. but maybe that was a fluke.
herr_oberst
Bah!!! Mamby-pambies... Courage and Fortitude, Courage and Fortitude. Prepare to lose (and learn), and lose some more... Still great fun.
