flamingknives
Much as I don't want to whinge about such a fine game, I'm going to. There seems to be a bit of a problem with the water/marsh tiles, in that anything not water/marsh is black. (Mac demo) Just so's you know.

Andreas
Ah yes, Dan. His system is an iMac w/8MB ATI Rage 128 card. Not sure if we had a tester with such a legacy system.
flamingknives
Screeny on the way Andreas. Mock my system again and I'll have to hit you with it.
Andreas
I think it is about as old as my niece, who will go to primary school this year? I have dealt with it. Wait for the powers that are to come back.
Watson & Crick
I have a mac as well and probably am seeing the same bug. In the first scenario (axis attack), the far right tile on the axis side is black. Also, the tiles around the oasis in the allied are black. I have a mac powerbook g3 333 mhz.
Sidewinder
I was talking to madmatt (i get the same bug), he said it was probably my VRAM. I have the same imac with ati rage 128, CMAK requires a 16 meg card and mine is only 8 (but it was the same for cmbb, which runs fine). The thing that puzzles me is that CMBB ran fine with no black thingos, and most of the CMAK terrain is the same resolution as CMBB's, especially stuff that should give me trouble (eg grass, tree bases, buildings) Here is a screenshot: I am thinking it is probably my VRAM also, I heard someone say there is no more downsampling? Also, I tried switching to a lower res grass, that didn't do it. Going to try a few more things.
Sidewinder
Update: Replaced the trees (772k to 196k), Tree bases (now at 52k), grass (772k to 208k), and took the skies down from 1.5 mb to 152k. Still nothing
aka_tom_w
yup that is what I see too I'm on a G4 TiBook 400 mHz but the game Demo seems to run fine thanks -tom w Originally posted by Sidewinder: I was talking to madmatt (i get the same bug), he said it was probably my VRAM. Sidewinder
Hi tom, can i ask what kind of video card you have? EDIT: Yes, the demo runs fine for me too, no worse than CMBB framerate wise (which ran only slightly worse than CMBO modded up), except for those black areas. EDIT#2: Here are some before and after pics: Before cmbo/cmbb mods: After: I forgot to mention i also threw in mikeyd's half res doodads from cmbb where applicable. Pzman
I'm having no trouble with the demo on my Mac. Maybe its a video card issue? It could be that when they say 16MB VRAM min, they mean it this time? REVS
Almost no probs here with my G4 Mac, especially not around marshe tiles, but the mouse cursor itself looks a bit strange. Behind the familiar arrow is a black square about the size of the arrow. Everything else works fine, I'm happy to say, and the cursor glitch is only minor.
Andreas
Lads, can you always mention what video card you are running? I was one of the Mac testers, but I had the Radeon 7000 32MB AGP in my G4/400. Because I don't like ripping electronics products in and out, I never tried the beta with the original 16MB card. On the 32MB Radeon 7000 I usually did not seem to get downsampling, when checking the debug code (I did not do that all the time when I ran it though). I had no trouble with black spots, no trouble with the mouse cursor, and very light trouble with fractured graphics in the interface (but nothing serious).
Cinnamon J. Scudworth
For what it's worth, I'm running the CMAK demo on a 466 MHz "Digital Audio" G4 tower with the stock 16 MB Rage 128 Pro, and I'm experiencing no problems whatsoever. Tiles, textures, cursor all look fine. Scrolling is very slow at 1024x768, though, so I'm probably pushing the lower limits of the VRAM requirement.
demoss
Judging from the corner artifact in Fruhlingswind, it's a general low elevation issue, not marsh & water tiles (though they tend to be correlated). I see the same thing on my PB G4/500, also 8 MB. Bummer.
