Dietrich
Yes, but what about motorcycle- or bicycle-borne troops? Truthfully, I can see why simulating Kradschützen even at the squad level would be a PITA or just impractical. In the case of individual (or two-man groups of) Kradschützen, motorcycles (optionally with sidecars) would work like Humvees do in CM:SF. [rhetorical]But in the case of a squad, since the men aren't simulated individually, how would simulating their eight or nine motorcycles work?[/rhetorical]
Battlefront.com
Yeah, motorcycles are something I'm personally dreading having to deal with on the Eastern Front or 1940 Western Front. There's just no good way to do them at all. Either we make them "gamey" and easy to use, or we make them historically accurate and piss everybody off who has the displeasure of having to use them. It was bad enough with modern scout units, but 3 guys per vehicle and sometimes 1 of them staying with the vehicle while the other 2 formed up with others? Ugh! Secondbrooks
Did Germans use wood-burners as power source for civilian and also military transports? Or did they distill liquid fuel from wood? At least earlier example was able to keep Finland using it's cars and save liquid fuels for those which really needed them.
John Kettler
Dietrich, Love to have 'em both, and having them creates all sorts of wonderful possibilities, both for scenario designers and for modders. Paras, commandos, etc., on Welbikes, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welbike German bicycle troops advancing or racing to reinforce a small group of defenders. Modders convert Italian troops and armor to Japanese in Malaya. Ambushing messengers. Grubby kradschutze peering around corners while still mounted on recon (as painted by the talented Hans Liska http://www.allworldwars.com/World%20War%20II%20Sketches%20By%20Hans%20Liska.html ), fast moving screens of motorcycles preceding the armored advance and probing for weak points, Russian motorcycle troops screening the retreat or racing through in advance of the armored sweep. Glorious stuff! Naturally, the FJ will need the Kettenkrad to tow the 28/20, recoilless guns, etc.! Steve, Please don't stress! We haven't asked for the "very special, heavily armed recon motorbike" Suvorov/Rezun described in The Liberators that was "supposedly destroyed" by "Czech terrorists" during the invasion of Czechoslovakia. On a further light note, I left something for you and the BFC gang on the GDF. Absolutely no canceled game or closed Forum discussed! http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=90401 Here's a fun overview of military two and three wheeled ground vehicles. Music's even decent! Regards, John Kettler
Michael Emrys
...or 1940 Western Front. Stop the presses! Does this mean that BFC is committed to bringing out a family of games set in the early war period? Oh happy day! Michael

Michael Well, they certainly should seriously consider it. Lots of commercial opportunity with extensions: Poland, Greece, Norway, Sea Lion, Africa... I for one would buy them all.
