Cid250
After british module, What's next?... Wich one of those european armies equiped with exclusive automatic infantry grenade launchers it's in the plan?. Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy... [...] The in-service first-generation grenade launchers developed in the 1960s through the 1980s have similar characteristics. Their effective firing range is 1,500 m (LAG 40 SB-MI, Spain) to 2,200 m (HK GMG, Germany), their caliber (not russian models) is 40 mm, and their weight (mount inclusive) is 40 kg and more. During this period, the AGS-17 Plamya automatic grenade launcher was adopted for service with the Soviet Army. Today it remains in the inventory of Russian and a number of foreign armies. Until recently, the AGS-17 has been the lightest automatic grenade launcher (weighing 31 kg with the mount). It engages targets by the 30mm fragmentation grenade at a range of up to 1,700 m. Despite a smaller caliber, the 30mm grenade has a higher effectiveness compared to foreign ammunition. For example, the VOG-30 fragmentation grenade body is 60 percent heavier than that of the M384 grenade (USA), while its effective lethal area is 50 percent larger, as shown in the diagram below.[...] From: http://warfare.ru/?catid=278&linkid=2087
Sequoia
Next module will be the German/Canadian/Dutch module (usually refered to as the NATO module). That's the last that's been annouced, but with sales of the British Module going so well, maybe we can talk them into a French/Spanish/Italian module.
dan/california
Can we talk them into a decent drone treatment? Lets try just for fun! And maybe PGM arty as well?

Is anyone aware that, at least in Iraq, the Germans are prohibited from firing shot in anger? Frankly, the concept of NATO, as an organization, participating in any non-constabulary role strains one's credulity.
Smaragdadler
Are you aware that there is no Bundeswehr in Iraq? Just some Instructors for Iraqi Militia and Police in Kuwait and UAE. The 'concept' of NATO is out of date since the end of the cold war. Since then there is none.

Frankly, the concept of NATO, as an organization, participating in any non-constabulary role strains one's credulity. I think in the contexting of the upcoming module, "NATO" does not refer to NATO as an organization but refers collectively to the three countries -- Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands, which are members of NATO -- comprising the new module.
MikeyD
Its been ages since I read the manual 'backstory' but apparently a 'revolutionary' Syrian regime has committed some grave international outrage. NATO (with Canada) went into Kosovo due to grave outrages, and ditto for Afghanistan. Admittedly it would take a LOT for them to invade Syria, but the backstory provides the justification. Its too bad Turkey won't make it into the battle, if only so we could see M60s in action! But there's some logic in Turkey not participating in the invasion for domestic political reasons, but would allow transit through the country and logistic support. Besides, if Steve were forced to research Turkish TO&E the strain might just kill him outright!
Sequoia
Remember the original backstory of the game is a series of dirty bombs exploding in a number of European cities and being traced back to a Syrian backed terrorist group. If that actually happened I, at least, am sure NATO would actually respond in a manner projected in the current game, modules and upcoming module. Edit: Looks like Mike beat me to it.
Sequoia
By the way Cid250, with the Marines we already have an automatic 40mm grenade launcher in the game.
Smaragdadler
Actually it's *all* there allready: CMSF: the AGS-17 AGL (russian) for Syria MARINES: M32 MGL + MK19 (dismounted) for the USMC BRITISH: L131A1 (dismounted) for UK. (which is in fact the Heckler&Koch GMG) + there are the of course the vehicle mounted Mk19 AGLs on M1126 Strikers (CMSF), AAV-7A1s and some M1046 TOW HMMWVs (MARINES) + the Squad single-shot UGLs: M203 (US Army + USMC) and GP30 (SYR) in CMSF; L17A2 UGL (UK) (which is simply the H&K AG36 modified for the H&K L85A2)
