John Kettler
gautrek, While I lack the artistic skills, I do appreciate the Victorian funerary antique site. A friend of mine will, I'm sure, find that most interesting. As both an artist and a writer, it should be quite an asset to him. Speaking of which, years ago, I got to see the former Arne Coward Museum of Morture and the Macabre in Hawaii collection before it went on the auction block. It included a spyhole from a cell door in the Tower of London and several real Jivaro produced shrunken heads Wicky, That's NOT Blossom Goodchild! She publicly apologized on YouTube, and she did so in an unflinching straightforward manner with no visual camouflage whatsoever. See for yourself here After watching it, and understanding just how angry at her some people are that they're callously offering her agonizing suicide suggestions, would YOU have that kind of courage? John Kettler
Wicky, It would appear that Blossom Goodchild's not the only one with UFO problems. Just look at what one did to Her Majesty's state visit to Slovenia. http://www.austriantimes.at/index.php?id=9214 Regards, John Kettler
Michael Emrys
Never mind that, this should be on the front page of every paper in the world. Nice accompanying pic too. Michael
John Kettler
Michael Emrys, News to me, and may really put the hurts on Starbucks, which is already downsizing. I think, though, this cries out for extensive field research. If the test subjects are in her league, I volunteer! Must say I marvel that we can see the scene of a terrible bombing, in full gory color, but here in the U.S. dast not show even a photo of a nude painting a guy did of Sarah Palin (see the Chicago Trib online for that one), let alone of a live woman in similar state. Talk about screwed up values! Regards, John Kettler

Talk about screwed up values! Regards, John Kettler I have to agree with you there, John. Twenty-five years ago I was living in a small town on the Oregon coast that was in the middle of a local bible belt. Well, one year about that time, some church groups got together and began pressuring all the local merchants with magazine racks to cease selling magazines featuring nude women (or even men, I suppose, though I don't recall them focussing on that side of things very much). After a modicum of protesting, they all caved in except for one drugstore owner who told them what they could do on their day off. So all the Playboys, Galleries, Ouis, Hustlers and so forth disappeared off the racks except for one. They even went after National Lampoon because one issue had a girl on the cover wearing nothing but body paint. The point of this tale, which we are now arriving at, is that after the ban went into effect, I went in and counted all the magazines still freely available that were devoted to what could be called the pornography of violence. Nary a harsh word was spoken by these so-called "Christian" paragons of virtue against those. In their view, it was sinful to show for instance a couple making love. But it would be quite all right to show them blowing each other's guts out. What's wrong with this picture? Michael
John Kettler
Michael Emrys, Pretty much everything! But then, these are the same sort of Victorian prudes who called adoption--"Such a modest way to have children!" Here's the Palin painting as done. (irony mode on) Hold me back! http://www.zimbio.com/Sarah+Palin/articles/1677/NUDE+SARAH+PALIN+PAINTING+Looks+More+like What the Trib allowed us to see http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/chi-sarah-palin-nude-0930,0,273867.story Amazing, isn't it, that there's still an England despite the Page Four girls? costard
Think "control". Someone believes that they can and should control you. The facts mean nothing to them (they're quite happy to believe in the great sky fairy) so you're left with few options beyond toleration - and tolerating the intolerant is mental and emotional ju-jitsu of the highest ordure.

(irony mode on) Hold me back! http://www.zimbio.com/Sarah+Palin/articles/1677/NUDE+SARAH+PALIN+PAINTING+Looks+More+like That painting is very much idealized, at least as far as her figure goes. And the face doesn't look at all like her. Here she is for real. Judge for yourself. Michael
Wilhammer
The above picture is a known fake. http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/is_that_a_real_photo_of_sarah.html
Michael Emrys
Ah, too bad. But y'know, sometimes there is more truth to be found in a myth than in what we normally regard as facts. But it's good to keep a clear head on what kind of truth we are talking about. Michael
