About the Javelin

Can you be more specific about what you're doing? "Target" command usually works fine. The operator usually takes a while to aim (which is an acceptable drawback considering how good it is), but I've never had problems with it not firing.

I would, however, highly recommend reading the manual.

Did we ever get anywhere with the sharing/passing ammo idea? I think with the marines this could be particularly useful.. For example if you've got a Jav team deployed on the front line and a normal squad arrives as reinforcements in an AAV you could pick up the Javs for your AAV move your squad forward and then hand over the goodies to your dedicated Tank busters. Save having to run your AT guys back to the track to Re-arm.

He he, this is really a very friendly forum. People actually post back to help someone who flatly admits to asking a question just because he's too lazy to read the manual :)

Anyway, to the point of the question, if you are still having trouble getting the missiles to shoot, try the following steps:

1. hover you mouse over the weapon pics in the squad and see which position is the anti tank guy (when you hover over a weapon slot, it show a popup with the weapon name, makes the green base blink and highlights the corresponding soldier line in the left-bottom part of the 3d screen).

2. follow what this guy is doing when you target. Does his weapon slot change to a javelin missile? Does it say aiming, then firing? That is the sequence you should see just before the missile is fired.

Finally - the manual, besides containing many answers to questions you might have, is also a plain old interesting read, and with the printer-friendly version, it is, besides being printer-friendly, also easier on the eyes. You should give it a go.

Cheers

As SgtMuhammed said, make sure your Jav team has a CLU. Also Make sure the CLU goes to a dedicated Jav team or a dedicated AT team as noted by what looks like a Javelin missile off to the right of the green gun graphic.

There is no need to give target commands. When an armored vehicle crosses their line of site, they will launch. However to target infantry you must use area fire.

The Marine Jav teams take less time launch because they are specialized. Where as an Army AT team which is split from their squad may take a little longer to launch because they are not dedicated Jav guys. So the theory goes.
