missinginreality
I've also found that you can just use the PRINTSCREEN button this way: start whatever image editing software you use, or mspaint or something to paste into start CMSF Alt-Tab back to the paint program then back to cm:sf CM:SF now runs windowed. Hit the PRNTSCN button when you want to grab Alt-tab to the paint program and press new then paste Alt-tab back to CMSF.
Paper Tiger
FRAPS. It's definitely free and it works well.
birdstrike
I'm using Irfanview. It's also a nice tool for basic picture editing.
Darkmage
there is a free version of FRAPS you can use that works well. It will only take Bitmap photos (which is fine) unless you pay for the full version and any videos will have a watermark on them.
We Build We Fight
I just PrtScn too then paste into Power Point. I can then frame it anyway I want, add arrows, text, other photos, anything. Then I hit Power Point Show to see a full screen version of my final product, hit print screen and save as jpg with Microsoft Photo Editor.

Webwing
Originally posted by The Louch: There is also this little gadget - http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/ I tried basically everything mentioned here. Since the last patch I have been having problems with switching programs while playing CMSF so I had to find a solution. The Louch's suggestion worked best for me. Biggest advantage: It takes up less memory than all the others, specially the graphics programs, so CMSF runs better. Its a small, free, and very easy to use program. It uses the same shortcut as Windows, the PrintScreen button. Another advantage is that you can take as many screenshots as you like without erasing the previous one from memory like with the standard PrintScreen. All images are saved in a folder. So you play the game without interruption. If you just want screenshots this is ideal. To make movies then Fraps is the way to go. To manipulate the images there are also good suggestion here. Before I used Windows PrintScreen and then pasted in Photoshop, which is the program I use on a daily basis anyway. But even if I manage to get them to work together again I will stick to the Gadwin program to grab the screenshots. -- [ February 25, 2008, 07:19 AM: Message edited by: Webwing ]
