Trooper5
Thanks Guys, Just tried the 1.04 patch along with the new 163.71 WHQL driver and got +/- 50 fps on Alahs Fist with everything on BEST!!! Yahooo!! [ October 02, 2007, 05:21 AM: Message edited by: Trooper5 ]
Dirtweasle
1.04 and using same 163.69 drivers, and am getting >60 FPS @ Allah's Fist. Doesn't look quite as pretty, in fact the tanks look a little too sharp... but it perform more like I expect it to.
Sekra
Same here with the 8800GTS. Fired up Allahs Fist with best / best and multisample on (also turned the settings from nvidia control panel to application controlled) and got around 45fps average.

Thomm
I would be really interested in a best/best full antialiasing screenshot of a couple of Strykers ... Best regards, Thomm
Battlefront.com
Thanks guys! I started a thread in the regular Forum because more of the affected people are likely to see it there. Most of you have seen it already, but here it is: http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=52&t=003114 The upshot is that we still do not know what the problem is, though it appears that v1.04 has made dramatic improvements "by accident". Meaning that we did not specific to fix the problem, though it looks like most people are now able to play at a reasonable rate. The problem is still there, thuogh, and that means we have to keep trying to figure out what it is. Thanks for hanging in there! ka.jones
Me too. 8800GTS is running fine. Everything wound right up to the max.
mike_in_texas
Looks like this latest patch plus installing the latest NVIDIA drivers did the trick for me, too. I now get framerates on the order of 10-20 FPS in the Allah's Fist battle with everything set to best and vertical synch turned off. I have GeForce 8800GTX cards, by the way. Thanks BFC, Mike
Dirtweasle
Hey Mike, you ought to be getting better than 10 - 20 FPS.... I'm getting on average >60fps with "better" settings

Here's a little quote from a post I made the 17:th of september when Nvidias 8800 drivers and hardware where beeing blamed for the problem: Originally posted by mazex: ...In many cases you find out that some cards don't work as fast as they should and when you hunt down those bugs you often realize that you had done something in a sub optimal way. Thus the fix increases the performance for the older cards too... As the 8800 problem is gone now with the same drivers, without doing some ugly workaround for a specific card, It's really hard to not put in a little "well?" here /Mazex
mike_in_texas
Dirtweasel, Well, I'm still happy with the increase since I was getting ~5-7 FPS before. Do you have any suggestions that might help? Thanks, Mike
Dirtweasle
I wish I had something orginal to tell you I know how frustrated I was before last night. Are you sure the patch took? I'd go back and double check all the previous recommendations around here, and make sure the patch installed properly. If I think of anything better to advise I'll let you know.
mike_in_texas
Dirtweasel, When I run CMSF, it does display v1.04, so I think the patch is installed properly. Thanks for any help, Mike

Its great news that there are overall improvements though, that is what we were hoping for.
