  1. No worries, MJKerner. Good luck with your download! Mike
  2. BFCElvis, Since I think I have everything working, I'll go the (hopefully) less intrusive route and open a Help Desk ticket. Thanks, Mike
  3. BFCElvis, I looked in the Game Files/scenarios folder, and there are no files with R2V prefix. Mike
  4. Mjkerner, I hope you got your issues fixed. Regarding the R2V battles, can you give me an example of one, just to confirm I'm missing them. That is, do they have a 'r2v' prefix? Thanks, Mike
  5. I believe I downloaded, installed and activated the CMFI Rome to Victory module successfully (i.e., see below snapshot showing the Engine 4, version 2.10 patch, and Rome to Victory emblem); however, I did not see any new (Rome to Victory) battles or campaigns installed. But, when I select Quick Battle, I see I can select additional nationalities associated with the new module, such as South Africans. So, I was wondering if I'm, in fact, missing files or not? Thanks, Mike
  6. Thanks, everyone, I've finally got it up to Engine 4 patch and running. I had forgotten I purchased the Engine 4 Bundle back in 2016, which included CMFI. Mike
  7. Majick, IanL, Thanks for the suggestions. Can you please point me to the specific page that would have the italy v200.brz file? I've looked in the Patches, Upgrades, My Orders and CMFI game pages, and could not find this particular file. And, I've re-downloaded all the patches but none of them generate the fortress italy v200.brz file. After re-installing all the patches/upgrades, I get the following list of .brz files, but as you can see it's missing v200: Unfortunately, the only place I see a v200 is on a CMFI CD I had originally purchased with the game, but the .zip file on the CD cannot be opened. I get the following error: Mike
  8. I recently installed the Engine 4 patch and everything appears fine except for CMFI, in which I get the following message: The game opens and plays fine, except I noticed some graphics missing, such as bullets/ricochets effects are just black. Anyone else experience this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
  9. This probably falls under the micro-managerial category as well as non-game specific, but I thought I'd bring it up in this forum anyway. One option I'd like to see regarding vehicles is to be able to Open Up/Close Up at any given waypoint, rather than the current limitation of only being able to implement this command at the beginning on the turn. For example, I've found myself in situations in which I wanted to Open Up the vehicle, say, after I move behind cover. Thoughts? Thanks, Mike
  10. Ok, thanks, everyone. Sounds like speed doesn't necessarily matter. I was wondering if Battlefront thought about the physics behind this as well. For example, factoring in momentum, degree of muddiness, etc. Mike
  11. I played a scenario in which many of my vehicles ended up bogging in muddy terrain, and I was wondering if vehicle speed has any impact on the chances of a vehicle bogging and ultimately becoming immobilized. For example, has anyone noticed vehicles travelling faster/slower tend to bog more or less? Thanks! Mike
  12. Yup, only 130 posts (now 131, I suppose). You could say I'm more of a lurker than commentor. I originally checked out Battlefront because I was looking for a computer-based version of the Avalon Hill Squad Leader board games.
  13. I, for one, can't wait to check out this game, and am looking forward to a RoW tournament. Mike (another 'old-timer')
  14. Thanks, Moon. Do you know how long it typically takes for the helpdesk to answer a ticket? I submitted a ticket this past Sunday (3/15), and haven't heard back from the helpdesk yet. Mike
  15. Another question. How do I find my TOW1 license key? The only place I recall having it was through email, but I'm pretty sure that email is long deleted. Is there another place I can recover my license key? Thanks, Mike
  16. Anyone know what HDR means in the Settings? Thanks, Mike
  17. Thanks, guys. When I first received the game, I didn't experience this bug, so I'm sure an older version like gibsonm suggests works. However, I think for now I'll wait for a new release of drivers, and hope that fixes it. Mike
  18. Funny bug. When I use Alt-W to turn shadows on, all my infantry/crew units disappear and no shadows. When I have shadows turned off, my infantry/crew are visible (and still no shadowing, as expected). Thanks for any help, Mike My system specs are: Widows XP Service Pack 2 Intel Core2 Quad CPU @ 2.66 GHz 2.75 GB RAM Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX 768 MB w/ latest drivers (169.21)
  19. Dirtweasel, When I run CMSF, it does display v1.04, so I think the patch is installed properly. Thanks for any help, Mike
  20. Dirtweasel, Well, I'm still happy with the increase since I was getting ~5-7 FPS before. Do you have any suggestions that might help? Thanks, Mike
  21. Looks like this latest patch plus installing the latest NVIDIA drivers did the trick for me, too. I now get framerates on the order of 10-20 FPS in the Allah's Fist battle with everything set to best and vertical synch turned off. I have GeForce 8800GTX cards, by the way. Thanks BFC, Mike
  22. I can personally vouch for Steve's last comment concerning the 8800 (I actually have dual 8800s) w/ a quad processor CPU, and yet still having slow framerate issues. Mike
  23. Trooper5, I tried your settings, and there was no significant improvement in FPS for my system, unfortunately; I still get <10 FPS when the city is in the camera's field of view. I checked my performance with the Al Hawl scenario and shadows turned off, by the way. Mike
  24. OldBuddy, Sounds like we have identical systems. I, too, get sluggish framerates, which I'm hoping Battlefront can resolve in the next patch; I know they're working on it. Have you noticed any 'flickering' in some of the scenarios? Like parts of the scene/terrain flash black very briefly? Mike
  25. SlapHappy, Yes, the 4-5 FPS is about the minimum rate I get when running the Al Hawl scenario, when I have most of the town in the FoV. I haven't evaluated too many other scenarios, but if people find it helpful I'll be more than glad to. I've tweaked the various settings -both directly through my graphics cards' GUI as well as the options in CM:SF- to no avail inasmuch as finding a setting that gets consistently acceptable (in my opinion: 20-30 FPS) rates when running with 'better' or greater model quality. Mike
