Just had a CTD and there is a file called sound.log time stamped at the time it crashed. The contents are below ...

-- new session --

num channels 16

cannot open file for reading

Cannot open audio file samples/Error_empty.wav

Does this mean anything and does it have to do with the CTD?

Running current patch BTW.

Regards

hi

when I atempt to load a battle the game CTD when I tried to load a training battle the game CTD with this message

run time error #3(trap) Fatal error crash during termination.

This has happened after I installed new patch which I have been waiting for as I havn't been able to run game yet see my earlier post your surgestion then was to run Tow setup exe? which I did with no success

I can run the intro movie and access all the menu's. I was able to play the demo with no problems. I have tried every fix on this forum

to be honest with you that error list actually only works for something else, so I would try this,

What OS mode 32bit or 64bit?

Also try tow setup.exe then go to where your game is and open up the directory and see if your 1.4 exe is in there, if so run that version see if that works. Try shadows off and Sound off do 2 seperate test I want to see something.

it looks like it might be open GL causing the propblem.

Similar thing happens to the demo version, just that the demo auto-reboots. Email has been sent. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

I have now installed a new PSU (520W). ToW is working better. But I have still the problem that ToW crash to desktop.

Any other suggestions what it could be??

ToW demanding lot of “computer power”, and My PSU is too small to supply my CPU, RAM and my Graphic card with that kind of power.

My suggestion to others (which have similar problems) is try to disconnect some drive and try to play ToW.

My computer:

P4 3,0GHz

2GB ram

GeForce 6600 (256MB)

DVD and DVD/R (did discon. the DVD)

PSU 330W

Bus I beleave your PSU (power supply Unit) is at fault here you have a 3.0 ghz is this a dual core?

and your GeForce 6600 Is this PCIe

If so you really should be running a PSU of 500watts or more with 12v rails of 32amps. </font>

What do you mean?

I have sat my BIOS to 256MB. Shall I change it to 128?

BUSS:

Run the TOWsetup.exe turn water to low. turn off EAX. if that doesn't work try running the 1.4exe thats in the Theatre of war directory. Remember to post with your system information in the signature file so we know which computer spec we are dealing with.
