Has Anyone Received Their Retail Dvd Tow2 In The Mail Yet?
RobboG replied to trek's topic in Theatre of War 2
I got mine nearly a week ago. Sydney Australia. -
I had no option to confirm. Nevermind. I ordered with VISA. That worked.

Hi all, I just placed an order for TOW2 mail and download. I selected PayPal as a payment method and after logging in to the PayPal account, it took me back to the BattleFront Home page. No emails or anything else. Has anyone else experienced this. From what I can tell, my order disappeared. I'm concerned about ordering again for fear that 2 copies will arrive :-) Cheers

Have to agree with pad152. The larger missions and campaigns are very difficult to manage because of the amount of units and the vast scale of the maps. Small squad level battles is where TOW really shines. Now if only I could work out how to stop the AI player from running away when I create a small battle.

Since no one has ever come back with a fix for the dual monitor problem, the game is dead for me.

tried the nvidia fix, no joy --FIXED

Hi Matt, It has always worked with dual monitor support disabled. As I understand it, the dual monitor problem is a known issue. If however, there are people using dual monitor and it definately works, then I will do some more testing from my end. Cheers -

Can Battlefront provide an answer to dual monitors please. Will it work at all? If not, will it be fixed? Thanks in advance. -

Hi Matt, I guess my question is really .. "Will it work with dual monitors?" As you can appreciate, disabling a monitor will probably re-organise the icons on my desktop to the single active display. When the second monitor is re-activated, I will need to manually re-arrange everything. I'll test it but it is only a band-aid solution and not one I'd be willing to go through to play the game. I would think, with all due respect, that since I can play all other games I have, it is a bug and can be corrected. I'll post my findings here. Thanks for the quick support. -

I'm actually running 2 monitors. My gaming monitor is a 22" wide screen, 1680 x 1050 with a 8800GTS with 640MB and the framerate is woeful. Is the problem because I am running 2 monitors? -
That's all we need. Russian Special Forces siding with Syria in a hypothetical future war. Here comes WWIII. Well done guys!! Hehehe

The inevitable 'when's the 1.06 patch coming?' thread
RobboG replied to Paper Tiger's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I prefer my clients to be quiet and satisfied also .. Hehe .. Couldn't help myself. -
I've still had an issue in 1.05 where I deployed the heavy machine gun and the fire seemed to come from off screen. Not sure if this has been discussed recently.

As someone without the in depth knowledge of battle tactics and equipment, I would 'pretend' to use the Aussie skins and equipment so for that, well done M1. I can see Gibs point even if it comes across with arrogance but I didn't think this 'game' was for military training purposes. I wonder how well the Syrians are modelled? I wonder if they're happy about being hypothetically attacked?! All too often though, these threads become pissing contests. Who knows more about what and how bloody good am I. I really don't think M1's intentions were to cause a stink. Let's consider that for a second. Happy New Year all!!

CMSF is still a unique achievement

I personally didn't say it was the problem. I just prefer the WWII genre. -

Progress is progress and the new engine had to be made. This is the first iteration of that engine and there have been problems, as we've all read. I too don't like the setting that much, even if it is a fictional setting. Would anyone be impressed if Iran made a 'game' about an attack on their nation as a hypothetical future conflict? hehe. Anyway, all that aside, I think in a WWII setting, it would be awesome. -
Really bad framerate!!
RobboG replied to Fredrikdenstore's topic in Theatre of War Tech Support Forum
Hi all, I read this thread by chance and the first thing I thought, with all due respect to Fredrikdenstore, was "Your system specs are a bit low." The mobile chip and the Go card in general aren't designed for serious gaming. The graphics capabilities are just not up there. I think it is great that people are trying to solve the problem for you but as a builder of PCs for many clients, I would not be recommending that hardware for TOW. What other games do you run successfully? Do any of them compare graphically with TOW? I'm not here to flame I'm just curious. [ September 27, 2007, 01:41 AM: Message edited by: RobboG ] -

That's a very pretty game but ... how do you fire your weapon? -
Have an 8800 GTX ? Try this!
RobboG replied to Trooper5's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
I understand this Hotti after reading your post and am certainly not ticking the box as 'solved' but it is a workaround until the real issues are sorted. When I built my current system, the idea was that I should, pretty much, be able to max out most games that I had and CMSF should be no different. Keep up the great work. -

Got mine today. Sydney Australia. -
I enjoyed the strategy and tactics of the previous Combat Mission series' and even TOW but I can't find too much to enjoy about CM SF so far. I find it clumsy and very random. Perhaps that is modern warfare. I probably need to spend more time with it. It just doesn't feel right. My 2 cents worth.

High end system - terrible performance
RobboG replied to AstroCat's topic in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
I'd like to help if I could. I have a reasonably high end system, e6600, 2GB RAM, 8800GTS XP PRo SP2 and don't seem to have any issues. Can I ask, how are you checking the frame rate and are you playing in RT mode. Is it only that one battle causing grief?
