Shaking the Peng Challenge Thread, Boss

Recommended Posts

You are abosuletly right Joe!!! , there is no one in this thread that is as witty or good looking for that matter, as you.

I for one wait with bait....er bated....er, wait breathlessly for your next post. I find myself refreshing the screen as often as I would to see the announcement of the release of CMSF or a new porn video on Break.Com.

You are the light shining in the darkness...the one true ray of hope for us lesser beings...keep up the good work Joe Shaw , the whole world depends on you, well at least the MBT does.

At the risk of looking like I give a **** any more than Joe Shaw on National Curmudgeon's Day - how are you? Not that you often answer me; by the time I post this I am sure you will have departed once more like the wind. And rightly so.

And what would you have me say Grog Dorosh?

Sorry you're Canahookian? Sorry you're ... well ... YOU?

It's like the homeless wretch you pass on the street and, feeling pity for one whose story is that he was born in Canada, you dig into your pockets and drag out the buck and half in change to give him, knowning that he'll spend it all on whatever the hell a buck and half buys these days. Then you find you can't look the man in the eye, that you feel ashamed that he's not ashamed to wheedle money from strangers. You don't know what to say or do so you say and do nothing but simply pass on and try to forget it ever happened.

That's what it's like when you post something with my name on it ... I just ... pass on by.

Joe

p.s. Oh ... and good luck with the ... uh ... Livingston cup thing.

It's no use trying to butter me up Nidan1 for I'm ON A CRUSADE!

By GAWD you'll take and PASS the test for Nidan2 or I'll know the reason why.

Granted we may have to take up a collection sufficient to bribe the judges but WE'LL DO IT FOR YOU!

Jeez, I was going to invite older women, but if that's what you guys want.

No teenagers in the neighborhood currently, but there's a fresh crop of 4 to 7 year olds. Shary just got a new kitten, so that will help. And maybe if I grab a handful of candy from the bank this afternoon. Hmm, I'll see what I can do…

I was going to suggest that Lars had a disturbing familiarity with how one would go about the process.

I mean, hell, he's even got it down to a cost effectiveness basis by stealing the candy from the bank.

Didn't think it required a response on my part, but I did want to tell you I appreciated the note. Did you ever get a copy of the series for yourself? I think there are four separate books or something - the war diary, the colour photo book, or something like that.

Nope, not yet. It's on my list of "Things To Buy When I Don't Have To Spend My Money On Stupid ****e Like Food and Gas And Other Bothersome Stuff".

Oh, and you have Chip Saunders' radio voice procedure down to a T. I hope you googled that because if you actually remember it...the other chestnut of course is "One-Adam-Twelve, One-Adam-Twelve..."

I watched Combat religiously when I was younger. "Adam 12" not so much because I really wasn't into cop shows.

I watched an episode of Combat a couple of years ago. One that was actually directed by Vic Morrow.

It was... less than good.

I'm surprised I got the radio call signs right.

The ladies are suckers for a new leather checkbook cover.

And if it matches their purse, you're golden.

Not a matched set, but you could still afford your Sloppy Joes, beer and popcorn.

White Rook Out.

Oh swell... the bidding's already ended on the diary. Swine! Why didn't you call me? And you'll probably bid against me on the history! Won't you? WON'T YOU?!?!

{Serious} (Thanks for the heads up, Mike. Too bad I didn't notice the post earlier. Ah well...){/serious}

The Diary is pretty dry anyway - and I am bidding against you on the book of colour photos which I didn't send the link to. smile.gif

The diary is just a list of missions with the groups involved, with some sidebars and photos that are interesting. Still, you could look up your dad's(?) missions in it. If you know which missions you're interested in, I could scan the relevant pages from my copy for you.

The history is the one you want I think, and I'm not bidding on it. Not sure if there are newer editions out or not. But this one has the advantage of being modestly priced. For now.

Question Mr Dorosh....

I clicked the link on your sig (cos I'm a nosey git)

Why the link to nothing?

If I sign up do I get a special gift or somefink?

If I do a search on Facebook, will it be worth my time?

Is Facebook a book full of faces?

If so, are they nice faces?

Can you tell I'm bored?

You need to be a member, I think, for the link to work. It's an exclusive club; only myself and anyone with access to the Internet are invited.

I can't tell you if it will be worth it for you - sign up and do a search for old friends; you may be surprised at what you find. Don't know how popular it is in Europe but I've made contact with lots of old military acquaintances, high school friends, internet friends, etc.

But... if you didn't send the link... then how am I bidding against you?

Am I doing it with my vast, Uri Geller-like mind powers?????

I could see that. That would be cool.

I may just do that (when I get bored with the wee zombie game I found while browsing)

Facebook sounds a bit like our "Friends Reunited"

The Gnome lives in the urban slums of downtown. Dalem is in the northern suburban slums of Columbia Heights. Missed them too.

Me, I'm way the heck out west. It was pouring here. Think we filled up Lake Minnetonka in a day. Should go check and see if the boat is still there.
