bongotastic
Question 1 - Fire Control within units Is there a way to tell a squad to hold fire, either globally or between waypoints. It would be useful for in/exfiltrations. Question 2 - Sequential Ops Is there any way to, say: drive for 15 second to the drop point, get the infantry out and then keep on moving while the infantry begins to move out. So far, the best I can do is to get the Stryker on site, get the Inf out and then they both wait 45 seconds until the end of the minute. Another thing I'd like to do is pick-up inf then keep on going for the rest of the turn. Is this possible? Thanks,
Bertram
ad 1: you can set a covered arc with a very short distance. Generally squads then will hold fire. ad 2: don't think so, loading and unloading is a bit iffy at best.
bongotastic
Bertram, as for Q1: I wonder why I didn't think of that, thanks! I guess that for Q2, the best thing to do is to then is to delay the vehicle so it drop the infantry late in the minute.
Other Means
I think you should be able to Q2 with "pause" and "dismount" orders on the waypoint. I'm guessing that the Stryker wouldn't try to drive off with half the squad not out.
MirabelleBenou
For the Q2, you can give sequential orders. For example, you draw a path with waypoints. After that, you can click on the waypoint and give orders (dismount units for example). I use it for choosing differents line of fire when moving (I put a different "target" order on each waypoint).
MarkEzra
Q2 Be certain to allow enough time for the vehicle to load and unload. Short pauses may not be enough...spotting or other activity may draw out time longer than you have anticipated. There was a long dissertation on the the real life training and difficulty of load and unload...apparently akin to herding cats in RL... The method I TRUST to load and un load is: Halt vehicle first (pop smoke as needed) with No movement orders. Infantry order quick move to a specific location you choose. Reverse the order for pick up. Safe and sure every time
Garm
Q1: I would definitely appreciate a hold fire button. Would be nice for scouting and a button would be a bit more comfortable than a covered arc command.
Webwing
The hide command works as hold fire, doesn't it? They even shout "Hold fire!" when you press the Hide command. They lay down and stop firing. Only problem is they cant be on the move... --
Garm
Only problem is they cant be on the move... That's exactly why a "hold fire" button would be nice.
