Problem with Marines Campaign
Garm replied to Field Marshal Blücher's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Well, mission accomplished I would say ;-) I really like the scenario, just this spawning thing was a bit unnerving. By the way, but that has more to do with air support than mission design: It would be nice if you could designate more than one target to air support. If there are several tanks standing close to each other, you can choose between "strike target" which will destroy one tank and "area target", which will maybe destroy several tanks. -

Thanks for the answer. Well, after I lost the truck, I moved them to the right edge of the map, about where the first wave of reinforcements spawned. They were safe there. Maybe I should have hunted down the anti tank teams first, but I have a pretty slow style of playing, especially in that mission where death seems to lurk behind every corner. -

I tried to go to the right, lost the mission and got objective Pooh. MINOR SPOILER: In the Objective Pooh battle, Fox company spawns directly in reach of the enemies' anti tank weapons. I cannot react quickly enough, I always lose at least one armored truck. Someone experienced the same? -
In addition to that, it would be useful in my opinion if the remaining rounds of different ammo types (rockets, bombs...) was shown, just the information we have for vehicles.

Moon, thank you very much for your help. I have just received the registration mail with my password. It was not a problem with spam settings, as it seems, the mail just took some time until it arrived. I have installed the module and it works fine. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks again.

Thanks for your reply Moon. I am downloading the module right now, I just registered once again. I tried to reset my password, but somehow, my username (for which I used my email address) was not correct, although I don't remember having changed it. I haven't yet received the new registration mail, though. I checked my email account for spam. When I ordered ShockForce last year, I had no problems with the registration mail (unfortunately, I deleted it). Well, I hope I will be playing the game in 30 minutes or so. I just hope it doesn't cause any problems that I am double registrated now.

Moon, I have lost my customer account password, too. I have already send an email to sales@battlefront.com. Could you please send me a new password? Thanks.

I have just tested the air support in the first mission of "In Search of a Ghost" with the new patch. As the patch notes say, the symbols representing the spotter quality are fixed, which is a good thing and especially helpfull to new players, I guess. In addition to that, it seems that the Apache is much more precise in attacking a building. Maybe other players can check this out and comment on this. Also, the time between 2 attacks is MUCH shorter, just about 30 secs or so between "coming around" and "attacking". Great work! Two things that I still miss concerning air support: 1. jet/helicopter sounds 2. a tool tip which tells wich ammo symbol stands for which weapon of the helicopter/aircraft

No problem, thanks for your answer anyway. As I read in your profile, you are a surgeon. Do you know perhaps the program "Interactive Trauma Trainer"? Here is some information about it http://www.trusim.com/ I am studiying medicine and I read about this program that it is used by british army surgeons. I asked the company if I can purchase it as a civilian but they didn't answer me. Have you heard about it? Greetings, Garm -
So, what will be fixed/added in 1.08 ?
Garm replied to Darkmath's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Improvements I would like to see in 1.08: - helicopter and jet sounds as suggested by M1A1TankCommander - Apaches should be more precise (no more "drunken shotgun of the gods"); in addition to that, I think it would be better if they would stay over the battlefield; the long delays between attacks ( when the "coming around" message is displayed) seems unrealistic to me - correct symbols for the quality of a spotter as discussed here: http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=52;t=003954 -

Exactly. It should not be too hard to fix it.

Some answers would be nice. By the way, I have the impression that apaches are still "the drunken shotgun of the gods", as someone called it.
-
I would also like some helicopter/jet sounds in the game. In addition to that, the symbols which represent a spotter's quality are a bit confusing because normally, red crosses stand for something negative in the game (for example weak armor) while they seem to indicate a high quality spotter in the air- and artillery support menu.

I'd like to know at what price BF is planning to offer the modules, for example the Marine addon. Sorry if this has been answered before. -

Just one little question: Is there a chance for a release of the WWII game in this year? -

Dean F.: As I see in your profile, you are German too. Did you play BattleTech in the MechForce or NiceDice? I played with my chapter in NiceDice. BattleTech brings back some memories, you know... By the way, another thing that's quite strange in Battletech is the small range of the missiles and heavy autocannons. I was interested in StarWars when I was young, StarTrek was never my cup of tea. -

Dean F.: How about BattleTech? I played the tabletop for quite a few years and also loved the PC games. -

I'd like to see a BattleTech or WH40K based game, but I guess the license would be too expensive. -
I haven't downloaded the patch yet, but there's one thing that needs to be fixed that I haven't found in the changelog. It has been mentioned several times, I think. If you choose an artillery spotter, the best spotter is indicated with a red cross. Normally, a red cross indicates weaknesses in the game (for example thin armour). I was quite confused until I realised that red crosses have a different meaning concerning the quality of an artillery spotter.

Steve, I am really looking forward to the WW2 games with the new engine. I guess, somebody asked that question before me, but can you give a rough estimation when we can expect the first WW2 game? If I remember correctly, somebody from the team said that the WW2 games and the add-on for CM:SF will be developped parallely. Is this true?
