Retributar
I know this is pre-mature...but, why can't we dream a little!. I would like to see SC3 as a WW2-GLOBAL-WAR!. SC3 would include many of the suggestions for game enhancement in this forum...and, everyone who contributed, contributed good ideas. Too-Many to even start to cover here!. I would like to see a quick-switch to go from Corps to Division-Sized Units...and the same for Map-Size!. Also...if one wanted to personally supervise the battle himself...he could do so with all participating units in 3-D!...if so desired!. I would also like to see a New-Map-Mode...showing actual surface features...like 'SUPREME RULER 2010' will...using satellite technology for precise mapping(Or even better)!...including Roads!. A technology tree that cannot be easily interpolated or prefigured would also be a game enhancement i would like to see!. New military technology would not be taboo in this game...for other than WW2-BASIC!. Here...there would be no barriers to ...well!!!...they didn't really use this or that in WW2 . In this option...historical research lines would be utilitized and some could actually become reality!. Nations would not necessarily be forced to follow the historical path...they would/could be able to determine their own direction for alliances and research. Desert Dave
Hidden porn. Ah, LOL, Lars, it ain't gonna arrive Such as that, oh, nix-nix, not a prayer. Although... you MAY discover something near To Divine, Such as this: _______________________ You have entered the frame, You are crossing an old bridge, and No 3-headed dogs, nor any one-eyed Daemons Are chasing you, anymore. For that, you are grateful. On the other side, you notice - can't help it, A young lady, rolling 'n strolling along In a just arisen mist. You stop. You are stunned! You've NEVER seen such Beauty - not anywhere, Not in any magazine nor movie or where-ever It was that you've already went. She sashays along, softly swaying, as if Hearing faint fey harpsichord Melodies in her head. She stumbles!... you awaken! and race across To offer a hand, a rough & ready War-gamer sort of hand. She raises sleight misted lashes, And looks you full in the eyes. Yes, she seems to say... "Yes." You can hardly think, but eventually stammer: "Uh, how about some latte over at the Bistro?" She takes a while to consider. She stares, approves, in hues of electric bleu Through & through... only now, a different you. You stumble, it is all too much. At long last, You take her hand, a bit wet from brushing The mist from 'er face, and hair, And so... you stroll on along, at first, To the Bistro - ah, and perhaps? "A hot-fresh croissant as well, mon Cheri?" _________________________________________ Well, Something such as That you MIGHT find secreted in SC-2 Blitzkrieg, But yer gonna hav ta really LOOK for it, LOLOLOLOLOLOL! Yep, you are feeling right fine. The mist is now rain, but you don't care. Life, O she has become... gorgeous and fair. _______________________ Now, you may find that other puerile stuff In some of them less Classy war-games merely taking up shelf space Out there somewhere. Here, It's plain and simple... Romantic, And you'll have to search, and search, Some long feverish time... before You'll find... a trace, Of the lady on a bridge With wild glistenings of... mist In 'er 'air. Retributar
Jordy ... you may just be surprised how well square tiles can work. EMPIRE was the 1st computer wargame i played...and it was great...not anything realistic...but, a lot of fun to play...and the square tiles worked out really well. Search: EMPIRE Deluxe Enhanced Edition ...which is an updated version of that old game...it still is a great game!...i just purchased it recently and find that it is a whole lot of fun to play. I do really prefer real situations like SC2 presents...but, some fantasy world conquering games can be fun too!. The square tiles in EMPIRE Deluxe Enhanced Edition work very well to my surprise. I wonder how they will work out in SC2?.
Nmargie
SOmething I would like to see is a line down the center of the Atlantic that acts like a border. If a Germen ship passes the line America declears war.
Jordy
1. The ability for the US to lend lease (decreasing US entry chance and increasing the amount of MPP's the allies gain each turn) before entering the war and for the axis to initiate unrestricted submarine warfare (increasing US entry chance, and the amount of MPP's lost by the allies each turn). 2. On the global scale, there needs to be a good way to simulate the war in china. 3. Having the game start in 1936 so there is more chance for alternate histories. -A german polish pact -Allied intervention in 1938 (could result in some eastern nations joining germany, something would need to be worked out) -Japan does better against the USSR or doesn't attack at all. -The Spanish civil war -etc, etc, etc 4. Simulte the finnish war with the USSR Just some thoughts off the top of my head.
pzgndr
A lot of these things will be possible in SC2. Considering that it hasn't even been released yet, nor enhanced with whatever additional features can be included with some future patches, it's way premature to write off SC2 and start hyperventilating over SC3. Have a little faith, and some patience, eh?
Retributar
For other than 'WW2-BASIC' i would also like to have included features such as being able to move my industry 'underground' as i could manage it, to allocate the resources to do it...to keep the Bombers from incessantly bombing out my production. This would result in a lesser need for Anti-Aircraft weaponry...and the resources that would have been used for that could now be re-directed. This could be indicated on the map with a 'U' - Symbol beside the Industry or City. Once underground...the oppostion / Opposing Player would not be able to see it anymore on their maps...but only know that it exists or may-exist if spy's or the local resistance have successfully infiltrated the complex to make the determination. Edwin P.
Building on the above suggestion by Nmargie; 1. A chance to activate (by chance or by using diplomacy chits) the US Navy for Naval actions after USA war readiness exceeds 75%. ----- Activated US Units can only attack other ships/subs units unitl the US Navy enters the war. ----- Activated Naval units of a Neutral USA can not perform shore bombardment. ----- Attacking an activated US Naval unit in a sea hex (as opposed to a port hex) does not require a declaration of war. ----- Activated US Naval units movement is restricted to the ocean hexes north of tile XXX until the US enters the war, thus eliminating the chance that they can be sent to guard Gibraltar or reinforce British forces in the Mediterrean.
