Yes. One problem the noprth americans and the europeans share are the time problem.

1 minute = 60 seconds.

So stupid 1 minute = 100 seconds and 100 minutes = 1 hour would be better

You could divide a day (or any other unit of time) anyway you wanted. If we wanted to divide a day into 100 units instead of 24 units, that is easy enough and it doesn't really mater how many degrees of rotation that is.

The reason time will not change is because everyone is accustomed to it, it works, and it would be incredibly expensive to change it. People would need to completely change their conceptual reference. But more important than that, all clocks would need to be replaced, all signs with times on them would need to be redone, and darn near every computer program and operating system would need to be updated. The cost of the computer change alone would be monumental. But when you add it all up, it would likely never happen even if there was a good justification yet there is nothing wrong with the current system.

I agree that the metric system is a more logical and easier-to-use system than the English system.

But the arguement above (about time and clocks) is exactly what kept the US from going metric in the 1970s.

Hey Rambo, sorry im retired and not playing anymore, instead i wrote u a nice song. Took me 10 minutes. Hope u like it. Its called Cocaine Blues originally from Johnny Cash.

"Early one mornin' while playing some rounds

I took fast Belgium I shot the frenchies down

I went to bed cos Paris finally fell

I started thinkin what i was doing next in my head

Got up next mornin' and I called Da Man

Took a shot at London and away I run

Made a good run but I ran too slow

Rambo overtook my subs down at Oslo

Late in the evenin while takin' Vichy

In walked a carrier from Malta beach

I said hey Rambo u cheating on me bitch

It's the dirty heck I sank at Egypt

Said yes, oh yes my name is Rambo and i cheat

If you've got the warrant just a-read it to me

Cheat on u cos u made me sore

I thought you had one airfleet but you had five more"

I hear SC-2 is a comin'

Hubert's rollin 'round the bend

And I ain't played squat since

I don't know when

I'm stuck in SC-1 prison

And Jet tech keeps draggin' on

But those hexes are a movin' on

Down to gay A.I. fun.

When i was just an Icon

My mama said "hey son,

Always be a Legend,

Don't ever play with bums"

But i smacked Condor in the Forum,

Just to watch him dive

When i hear my followers laughin'

They know Rambo well alive.

"I'm waiting for ya" --- Sgt. Guffy in Battle of the Bulge.

It may be a bit delayed beyond Thursday but likely we are very close. I can almost hear the pitter patter of tiny marching digital feet!! smile.gif

No plan survives the first contact with the enemy.

Look at the beta reports:

- Hubert is still working on implementing the AI it seems.

- Game still needs some balancing it seems. (2nd AAR)

- bug hunting

- writing the manual

- etc.

Looking at the game development of GalCiv2 + Heroes 5,

I would guess 3-4 Month of work at least are still in there for Hubert (Don´t forget he is a one man project team)

A sombre Sombra:

Farther along than you might suppose.

Then,

You are a long, long way off, from where it is

That you walk, watch, and whistle the sort of riffs that move, amuse you. smile.gif

- Game still needs some balancing it seems. (2nd AAR)

As Mr Bill has already mentioned, we are all trying out some different options, and probably, given our aggregate, extensive experience, some of those that would matter the most.

Everyone, apparently, keeps right on forgetting how incredibly INTRICATE this game actually is.

Well, once you finally get yer hands on that most amazing! Editor EVER created, you'll see what we've all been saying and saying.

- bug hunting

I have said it is more complex that SC-1, though, it doesn't take as much time to play as you might suppose... IE, most of the decisions to do with Diplomacy and Research and the like are sporadic, and quickly determined, since you ARE immensely IMMERSED and liable to make intuitive choices.

I would worry more, MUCH more about the newly crowned American King's "electronic bugs" which are soon! coming your way... if not already installed... Average Joe? - WAKE UP!

- writing the manual
Bill has that pretty much finished. Some minor errata here & there, is all.

Hell of a job he did, should you ask me.

- etc.
Hmmm, tough one to ascertain yer REAL intent, but... TCP works near perfectly, the clamored for Timer is going to cause some frantic, frenetic games, and they can be FUN in their own way, or... were you talking about how the tiles are not even noticeable once you commence... trip the light fantasic play?

Haven't looked at those, wouldn't want to personally, but you are quite likely... INCORRECT in this estimated assessment.

(Don´t forget he is a one man project team)
A one man coding Magician, no doubt, with a genuine "knack" for unique game design, but there are actually some others on "the project."

Bill plays shortstop (... Jump School allows him to leap high! And avoid those flashing spikes when he would turn the inning-ending double-play),

Blashy is a dervish at 3rd Base, ah,

You should see!

Those hot shots he knocks down, and rips

Right back up and fires a silver streaking Bullet! to first base, nipping the astonished,

Helmet-hurling runner by half a step.

(... I am perfectly content to be way out in Left Field examining the manner in which the butterflies conduct earth-shattering fandangos.)

A few others of the 9 possible fielding positions are around somewhere too, but they ain't sayin' so, so

As Abbott & Costello have asked:

Who's on First?

What's on Second?

LOL! ;)

You're far from being in Left Field, my friend...

Reminds me of a dearly departed conductor friend talking about a colleague:

"He was so far out, he was on his way back in..."

Thanks to all of the development team!
