Watson & Crick
Is there a way to toggle off the roaring fire "crackle"? I would like to be able to keep all other sound on except this one. Unfortunately, this sound cannot be toggled off w/ the ambient sound (Shift-S) toggle. On my mac, if there is more than one building afire, this sound overwhelms all other sounds. I find this sound so annoying that I quit out of any map having a couple of burning buildings. If there is not a toggle switch, can someone tell me what the wav is and how I can turn the volume down for that wav?
James
A few weeks ago I asked the same question for the samr reason. I was told the wav no which was 300 i think but not sure, check it out first. I simply deleted it, no more roaring fire sounds.
Watson & Crick
Thanks, do you know anyway to downsample this wav in the game? [ December 01, 2002, 03:58 PM: Message edited by: Watson & Crick ]
MikeT
You could always open the wav file using windows recorder, then lower its volume to a point you prefer. Then save the file and give it a try in the game. MikeT

Watson & Crick
Thanks Joques. I just tested it and it is perfect. A nice and very low crackle sound. The best improvement mod in my game!
