The corporal's tank was in the lead, followed by the officer's, while mine held back and covered them....The officer reached his position, then came on the air and said, "I've just been fired at. There was an explosion, and a little while later another explosion. What would it be?" ...He was sitting on the roadway just outside the front yard of a house. Suddenly the house started to smoke, and I realized what had happened. Whoever was in the house had got hold of a Panzer-faust and fired the bazooka at the officer's tank. Instead of destroying the tank, the shell had hit the hedge and exploded. In the meantime, the flame from the bazooka had set the house on fire.
