MasterGoodale
OK, look at the first post in this thread for the bad mortar I have been talking about. The distance is 68M.
Captain Wacky
Mortars have a minimum range, you know
Downtime
Your mortar is also out of range. That is what "Out of range distance 68m" means when you check it with the LOS tool. Mortars have a minimun range to prevent the teams from shelling themselves. It is not a good idea to shoot (almost) straight up, no telling where the shells may land. They also have to wait until they are setup before they can start firing. [ November 16, 2002, 04:11 PM: Message edited by: Downtime ]
ParaBellum
MG, look at the unit description in CMBB. For the romanian 60mm mortar: Minimum range: 100m
MasterGoodale
hmmm, ok I'll just assume I was going crazy. If I remember correctly it was telling me that greater than 100m was out of range, and if 100m is the minimum range what gives? Maybe I was mixing too different mortars up I don't know. Thanks guys! Joe Shaw
I believe it will give you an "Out of Range" message when the range is TOO SHORT as well as TOO LONG. Joe
Gpig
Also, if you've got weather turned off and its actually a thick fog out there . . . your mortar team may not even have LOS past 100m. That would suck as that is also the minimum range. I've had that happen many times before. Damn fog. So is your weather effects off? Otherwise, it's "what they said." Pvt. Ryan
I think he has an ATI card, so he couldn't see the fog if it were there.
MasterGoodale
Weather is ON but I do have an ATI card. Brand new Radeon 128mb 9000 Pro. It doesn't do fog? That's f****d.
