Which graphic tweaks have the biggest effect on performance?

Decreasing horizon can be a saviour on larger maps... of course you need to make it unlimited again to be able to see the overall picture, and if it's a 2 km tank duel or something, then it's no help. But when plotting moves for infantry and the likes of that, or if LOS is limited, you don't need to see so far.

The default CMBB grass is high res at 512x512. I did a low res gridded version that's 256x256, which comes out to 1/4 of the original size.

I loaded up the To the Volga operation last nite just to see how it would run, and I think I was getting 10 frames per second at the most smile.gif That on an AMD 1900+ with 512ram and a Geforece3 Ti500
