Mod preview etiquette

Recommended Posts

You know what really bugs me? When a modder previews his latest creation and without failing someone will say:

"Nice tank/uniform/building mod, but whose grass is that?"

That's like going to a art gallery premiere and asking who made the frames or who laid out the carpet.

Conversely if someone is previewing a new grass mod don't f*cking ask who made the buildings or the sky texture.

You know who you are.

This has been brought up before, and most people who still do it do it as a joke. That's why there is usually a smiley after the question. I find it particularly amusing when the picture is focused in on the mod and the grass is just a blur.

How about another point of etiquette - naming the readme that comes with a mod "readme.txt" strikes me as horrendously lame and uninspired, and I usually jettison them unread in a fit of pique. Is it not possible to take advantage of the not-so-new Windows capability of really long file names and making it clear which mod the readme is for? Especially handy for those poor souls who put all their mods into the same folder.
