busboy
The thought just crossed my head, will CMBB feature any mine-roller tanks? I haven't seen any word on it.
Kuma of Finland
I remember seeing somewhere in the forum that all the special-purpose tanks will be left out as they're out of CMBB size battle scope. This includes mine laying, mine destroying, bridge laying, road carpet laying and towing tanks. Please correct if I'm talking incorrectly! /kuma
busboy
Makes sense, same reason those vehicles were left out of CMBO too. I assue this will include Russian amphibious tanks. I'm just curious, not griping.
gunnergoz
It looks like a lot of the "nice to haves" will have to wait for the engine rewrite. I'm not unhappy, just eager to see what can be shoehorned into the next generation CM. BTW I don't see mine-clearing tanks as out of the scope of CM sized scenarios, but that's just me. They work a lot faster than grunt engineers/sappers at clearing a mine-free lane.

Andreas
Certainly in the context of the mid-to-late war Soviet forward detachment, as outlined in the Handbook of Soviet Forces TM30-430. Instead of rehashing it, here is the page showing the breakthrough operation, and the text that makes it clear that mine-clearing was done under fire, by minerollers. The rhomboids with an 'E' in them are mine-roller T34s. The picture shows three stages of the same formation, forming up (bottom), breaking through with minerollers in the lead (centre), and spreading out (top). That should be pretty clear. Pvt. Ryan
I hope someone does a "splinter" camo mod for the wooden spoons that come with the Italian ices. There are Italians in CMBB, aren't there?
