Sore Loser
Hi folks, Are there plans to ever take the CM franchise and branch out the multiplay (pbem or tcp/ip) to include 3-4 or more players rather than just two? Just curious. -John

MikeyD
Hmmmm... I'm trying to remember what part of WWII had 4 different sides all shooting at eachother in the same battle.
MeatEtr
Hmmm, not a bad idea. I can see some sort of a 2vs2 possibility, no more than that. For instance, like 1000pt QB 2vs2, 2 allied, and 2 axis, split the pts 500 a piece. In this case, each guy would have command of about 1 coy with 1 or 2 AFV's. Now for the hard part, coordinating maneuvers together. I can see it now, "You SOB, why didn't you tell me there was a enemy tank in that area". Or "Man, im just glad your taking the shellacking from the enemy arty".
Sore Loser
2 vs. 2 is exactly what I'm thinking of, and I think the element of having to communicate with your ally would be a great dynamic, depending on how it was implemented. Consider, for example, you're allowed to chat in tcp/ip or send notes in PBEM *only* if you both have functioning company HQs... -John
xerxes
8 x 8 would be really nice. There's nothing like working with a big team in real time. Simulates the chaos of command quite nicely.
K_Tiger
In some RTS-Games this idea is well done..but how do you implement it in a round based game? Someone is faster in deploying...and giving orders...the others have to wait..till the last man is ready...this can be real boring.
Sore Loser
Well, in pbem, it would take a little longer to make the rounds, but provided the players are all prompt I don't see it being that big an issue. And in tcp/ip, it's no issue at all since everyone's planning phase would be on the same timer. No different than 2-player, right? -John

I heard the invasion of Sicily was something like that, only in larger scale.

I'd be happy to be able to command an infantry company, while my friend command a platoon of tanks.
Alsatian
The more the merrier and no more borg spotting. That really is the biggest point of making it multi-multi-player.
