Lt. Smash
So, I'm back into CM. After having the series on the shelf for more than a few months, I'm dusting off the cobwebs and diving back in...and loving it. I forgot how powerful the series is, particularly CMBB and CMAK. Unfortunately, I am finding the community appears to be less active than it once was. This is not surprising given the age of the series. This leads me to my question: Where are people finding opponents for PBEM games? Many of the sites that I used to go to are no longer there. Any help is appreciated. coldmeter
I got my last 4 pbem opponents right here on the Battlefront forum, you generally always get a couple of responses if you post on the opponent finder section. Mark
McIvan
I recommend The Bliz (www.theblitz.org) for plenty of opponents and tournaments...have never failed to get as many games as I wanted. A very laid back community with no pre-conditions for joining.
GreenAsJade
Or, for an excellent club, guaranteed no-drop-out games and a certain level of discretion about who gets in, come call in to We Band Of Brothers ... the best CM club, certainly not "less active"! Jim1954
I will second GAJ on this. Always a number of tournaments and campaign games going on as well.
GJK
The Proving Grounds and The Scenario Depot II both have opponent finder sections.
GreenAsJade
While TPG and TSDII are outstanding resources for their primary purpose, you'd be better off challenging one of the regulars in the forums rather than using the opponent finder. I've had far more dropout than completed games from that source. GaJ.
GJK
That's a broad brush to paint with when there's over 3500 members of the sites. FWIW, I only play opponents that I've met there and have never had one drop out on me.
The_Enigma
quite a few games have been set up via Koen's site: link While TPG and TSDII are outstanding resources for their primary purpose, you'd be better off challenging one of the regulars in the forums rather than using the opponent finder. I've had far more dropout than completed games from that source. That be a run of bad luck Ive had dozens of games arranged via that site ... using the oppoent finder, answering peoples requests via the front page to people asking me to playtest such n such a scenario via the discussions threads for said scenario
Larry Thorne
Along with WeBoB there is another very active club you can look into. it is called The Blitz You will find slim to non dropouts there. I have had only one within a year and that was due to RL issues and my opponent informed me about them before he had to drop out.
