kazak777
Why are Vichy forces and Rangers not included in CMAK?
Kingfish
Rangers certainly are. Check the editor from Sept '43 to Jan / Feb '44.

Sergei
Though not Vichy French. Doing a search would, of course, have saved time, as the same thing has been asked before.
WWB
There are several good reasons why one does not see vichy forces: 1) What exactly was the company level OOB and TO&E? Can it even be established to some degree of accuracy? 2) Finding 1 would have been time and resource intensive. Time was not avaliable for CMAK. 3) They fought only for a few weeks. So, given 1,2 and 3, it was not worth the effort to include them. Especially remembering BFC does not do half-assed, best guess TO&Es. Are you counting only Syria, or only NW Africa, or both? Also, how long was the battle on Crete again? Regards JonS
WWB
Hmm, good point, forgot the Levant and E africa. Could be edited to "they fought in few large-scale, major engagements." WWB
Soddball
I would still have liked to give them a good shoeing for being collaborators - which is the main reason for my disappointment.
John Kettler
I recall that the French Foreign Legion fiercely opposed the Rangers? landing at Oran. Right after the battle, the Legionnaires proceeded to tell the rather stunned Americans what they'd done wrong in their attack.
