zmoney
I have noticed that my Ukrainian air controller can not call in an area air strike unless he has direct eyes on the area in question. Where as in CMCW my Soviet air controller can be comfortably hiding in thick woods and call in area air strikes all day long without having eyes on the area in question. Does anyone know the reason this could be?
Halmbarte
Air controllers can call in strikes on TRPs w/o having eyes on. H
Redwolf
It looks like LOS determination for air support does not use ground level LOS. The reference for LOS seems to be a point up in the air higher than a tall wall but less tall than a 2-story building. That makes it highly un-intuitive. I can see no difference in this behavior between CMBN, CMCW and CMBS.

Helicopters can be called from anywhere, with fighter bombers you need to have an LOS but not necessarily an LOF.

That seems to be it my good sir. I was attempting to call in my bombers but they needed Los in CMBS. CMCW I called in helos with no Los
