Tempestzzzz
Subject says it all and GOOGLE wasn't my friend. I can't seem to find it for WWII. The German one is an upside down 'j' with the curve to the right. Allied unit icon-no luck.

Pak40
But seriously, I think they typically fall under engineers, so using those symbols would be appropriate. I did find this one that has a flame tank
IanL
The German one is a Y the US one I could not find so I used the modern upside down J. One reference I found for the Germans is here: http://www.niehorster.org/011_germany/symbols/_symbols_43.html Here is the key for my icon mod (http://cmmodsiii.greenasjade.net/?p=3263)
Tempestzzzz
NATO unclassified also has the upside down "J" pg 57 of 118. http://www.military.com/ResourcesSubmittedFiles/Military_Symbols_Guide.pdf
Bil Hardenberger
I used the upside down J for my set as well... so we have a consensus I think Edited April 8, 2016 by Bil Hardenberger
Tempestzzzz
Yeah I saw enough icons on the net to agree with that.
IanL
One thing I noticed is for that period very few if the icon systems spent a lot of time on identifying single assets. The Germans pretty much never did - they had an icon for a platoon and a modified version to represent an entire company with adornments for above that. The Russians focused more on formations - with connecting lines to show convoys, defensive postures or attack formations. The Western Allies did seem to draw individual tanks occasionally but even they spent more time focusing on formations. All of which to say my impression is that there is no flame thrower icon because it would have been part of a platoon of engineers and they just did not single it out on maps. That is a bit of a "connect the dots" speculation on my part so I could be very wrong.
Tempestzzzz
I'd have to agree. I even looked under the USMC. And could find anything. The Germans really had it very detailed.
Warts 'n' all
I like the German icon for a Band. Not much call for it in CM sadly.

The motorised butchery company is good too - a lorry symbol with a large axe.
