umlaut
This is from The Sheriff of Oosterbeek. The AT gun crew forgot their gun. I guess this is a bug - they shouldn´t be able to embark the jeep if it can't tow an AT gun, should they? Game is version 3.11 - fully patched
A Canadian Cat
First question did they abandon the gun? If not then yeah it looks off. More questions: What happened next? Did the gun ever "catch up"? After the crew got to their destination and disembarked did the gun catch up then? Not that any of that make this not a defect I'm just wondering how bad it is. Do you have saves?
umlaut
Second turn of the game, the crew is perfectly fine. The jeep hasn´t arrived at the destination yet, so I don´t know if the gun will catch up. I´m rather reluctant to let the crew disembark and try to set up if they will then have to reembark and drive back to the gun afterwards. But I'll try for test reasons (luckily this isn´t a H2H game). I have a save if you want one. Edit: Just tried a few test turns: I ordered the crew to disembark the jeep and then move one action square away ("deploy" order not available). After they disembarked they stayed put. So did the AT gun - where they left it. I then again (next turn) ordered them to move to the adjacent action square (still no "deploy" order available). They then seemed to realize that they had forgotten something, and they began trudging back towards the gun. If 'e did it's docked pay and we'll probably be digging privies from 'er to eternity!
A Canadian Cat
LOL Oh man that does suck. If you have a save of the turn where they drive off without the gun and another where they get out of the Jeep and start heading back that would be a good bug report. You can PM me with drop box links if you like.
umlaut
@ Ian: sent you a PM with the saves did they at least have a sheepish look on their faces? Not more than british soldiers normally have But RockinHarry is working on various soldier animations at the moment. I'll check if he can tilt their heads forward a bit - for a sort of looking-at-their-shoes stance
Harsmith
I think this is the known ATG bug. There are a number of posts on it. It has been reported to BF and is long standing. Seems difficult to squash.
A Canadian Cat
I think this is the known ATG bug. There are a number of posts on it. It has been reported to BF and is long standing. Seems difficult to squash. It does not seem familiar to me. There have been several one member of the crew wonders off bugs. There is a current reinforcements appear with out their guns bug but I have never seen or read about a gun getting left behind. At any rate BFC will figure it out. It is reported.
umlaut
Thanks. For what it´s worth: I sent the crew back to the gun - on foot. It took a loooong time, as they were walking at pushing-gun speed. Once they´d returned to the gun everything seemed to work normally again. I sent them along at pushing-gun speed once again. This time with the gun.
A Canadian Cat
Good. What about if you try to mount them in the jeep again? Just curious if it happens again or not - but not important enough to go out of your way.
