robonline
Hi, I just bought and installed the CMBN V3.00 upgrade on top of a CMBN patched to V2.12 on my PC. I installed and activated it with no issues but now I see V2.20 in the game start screen. Could someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks, Rob
MikeyD
I just looked, I have v2.20 displaying, myself. But the game's definitely got all the new bells and whistles. I'll check to see if this has been reported. If I were to hazard a guess I'd say there was a finger slip while typing.
MikeyD
Oops! Back again. There's so many different titles the naming is getting confusing! The 3.0 game engine is v2.20. The version before that was named 2.12, and 2.11 before that. I went back and triple-checked. The fortress Italy was upgraded to 3.0 but that version number is even farther off. CMRT is still sitting at v1.00 but that's the v3.0 game engine. We're looking at two sets of numbers meaning two different things.
Hister
MikeyD, you must have missed many same questions on these forums since 3.0 for CMBN and CMFI were released. Convention is confusing and will hopefully be changed by the devs.
robonline
Thanks MikeyD...glad it's just a version numbering issue and not a technical one. I agree Hister, the convention is *very* confusing especially to those of us who are not following the game development as closely as some. :-)
varnp
I agree. Since a "vX.XX" is the easiest way to know what you have going forward, and going forward requires us to know what we have in order to purchase and install the correct update, upgrade, module, some sort of intersection of conventions, even if it's a major skip in nomenclature will greatly assist the purchasers and in the long run, reduce tech support. I have been a Battlefront purchaser for many years and I get stuck in the cracks. -Pv-
Pak40
Mikey, another wierd but minor issue: After installing the 3.0 upgrade and activating it, it then asks if you want to launch CMBN. When the main screen comes up it only shows the two tank icons in the bottom left (CMBN+CW). It doesn't show the MG parachute icon. So I exited out of the game; Then I used the old CMBN shortcut on my desk top to launch the game and it then shows all three. I'm not sure why there's a difference but it may confuse a few people who just installed 3.0
Hister
It's a known bug so no worries. After you restart the game for the second time all module icons show and module related scenarios and campaigns ceased to be grayed out. Happy gaming.
MikeyD
That sounds like Murphy's law in action. You check, double-check, then triple check everything before release, then were does that one inevitable issue pop up? in the post-release DRM activation protocol! The only thing that couldn't have been tested during the Beta phase! Grrrr! At least this is less a 'bug' than just a 'glitch' because its self-correcting.
bram1979
I have installed v3.0 but I can't find the ammo supply platoons? I know they work in RT.
Vanir Ausf B
You can't find them because they were not included in the CMBN 3.0 upgrade. Apparently TO&E changes were not part of the package. I am pushing to get them into the Battle Pack. We'll see...

bram1979
Well thank youhoe Battlefront... I counted on them for my Overloon scenario
bram1979
Eureka!!! It works indeed. If you set jeeps, trucks and halftracks on dismount they become ammodumps. The only problem is you can not create ammodumps for anti tank and AA guns. Only small arms and mortars (dedicated transports only)
Vanir Ausf B
Ah, you originally said Supply Platoons. That's a little different.
bram1979
... Isn't that the same massage? I asked about ammo dumps as an overall question. Well now that I figured it out, do you know how to set ammodumps for AT and AA guns?
Vanir Ausf B
Ammo dumps and supply platoons are not quite the same thing. Supply platoons are like ammo dumps for QBs and they are not in 3.0.
